Men's Junior Asia Cup 2024: Updated schedule, fixtures, results, live streaming details

Indian junior men’s hockey team are the most successful team in the tournament history.
The Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 will be the 10th edition and will be held in Muscat, Oman. The tournament will commence on November 26, with the final scheduled for December 4. This is the second consecutive edition that will be played in Oman, with the latest featuring 10 teams.
This tournament will also serve as the qualifier for the 2025 FIH Men’s Junior World Cup. The number of teams has been increased from 16 to 24, providing six quotas for the Asian Confederation. All six spots are up for grabs, with the top six teams qualifying for the Junior World Cup. India have already secured their place in the tournament as the host nation.
This Hockey Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 will also mark the second assignment for the newly appointed Jr team coach PR Sreejesh. In his first assignment with the team, Sreejesh led the colts to a bronze medal at the Sultan of Johar Cup 2024. Sreejesh and his army will aim for a hat-trick title win at the Men’s Junior Asia Cup.
India will begin their assignment against Thailand on November 27.

The Men’s Junior Asia Cup will take place in Muscat, Oman, with the tournament set to commence on November 26. The final is scheduled for December 4.
How many teams will participate in Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024?
A total of 10 teams will participate in the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024. These teams are—India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman and China.
Tournament history
A total of four teams have won the title since its inception in 1988. India are the most successful team with record four titles (2004, 2008, 2015, 2023) to their name. Pakistan (1988, 1992, 1996), South Korea (2000) and Malaysia (2012) are the other three teams to win the championship.
Pakistan are the only team to win a hat-trick of titles, having won the first three editions. In the inaugural edition, Pakistan topped the group to win the championships They then defeated host Malaysia (3-0) in the final of the second edition. They completed their hat-trick of title wins by beating India in a thrilling penalty shootout in 1996.
South Korea also beat India (3-2) to clinch its maiden title in 2000. Finally, after two consecutive final heartbreaks, India lifted the fifth edition of the tournament in Karachi and then successfully defended its title at home in the next edition. They first beat Pakistan 5-2 to win their maiden title and then South Korea (3-2) to complete their revenge.
In 2012 hosts Malaysia defeated Pakistan 2-1 to deny them a fourth title and, in the process, achieve their only title win. India have won the previous two editions in 2015 and 2023, beating Pakistan in both finals—the first by a margin of 6-2.

Tournament format
The tournament will feature 10 teams divided into two groups of five teams each. Each team will play against the other members of its group. At the end of the pool stages, the top two-ranked teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Teams finishing third and fourth in their groups will compete in the 5th-8th classification matches, while the teams finishing fifth will play in the 9th-10th classification match.
