The FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 kicked off on November 28. All games of the biennial U-21 tournament will be played in Chennai and Madurai until December 10. It will be the 14th edition of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and has been organized since 1997.

The World Cup will witness the participation of 24 teams, equally divided into six groups. All four teams will play against each other once in the preliminary stage. All six group winners and the two best second-placed teams will progress to the quarter-final.

Then, the knockout system promises an entertaining brand of hockey from all top teams. Meanwhile, the classification games will also take place to determine the final position for the rest of the teams.

The last edition in 2023 witnessed Germany winning their seventh title, while France emerged as the runner-up. Under the leadership of Uttam Singh, the Indian team finished fourth in the standings.
