Railways smash AIPSCB in Women's Inter-Department Hockey Nationals

Sashastra Seema Bal registered their second win of the competition with a 3-0 victory over Steel Plant Sports Board.
The 2nd Women's Inter-Department Hockey Nationals 2022 witnessed pulsating Day 2 matches on Thursday here in New Delhi.
In the opening match of the day in Pool A, Sashastra Seema Bal registered their second win of the competition with a 3-0 victory over Steel Plant Sports Board. Darshana Rani (10’) opened the scoring for Sashastra Seema Bal in the first quarter, while Ranjita Minj (37’) and Longjam Bijeta Devi (48’) scored subsequent goals to see out a well deserved victory for Sashastra Seema Bal.
In the second match of the day, Railway Sports Promotion Board stamped their authority with an 8-0 victory over All India Police Sports Control Board. Anupa Barla (3’, 52’), Priyanka Wankhede (20’, 51’), Amrinder Kaur (8’), Shilpi Dabas (24’), Alka Dungdung (27’) and Devika Sen (38’) rounded up the goal scoring action to set Railway Sports Promotion Board on their way to a victory.
“We have been training really hard for the past 20 days, we have a lot of new players coming in and I think the team is shaping up really well. We are very much looking forward to the competition and are certainly prepared to defend the Title,” Pritam Siwach, Coach Railway Sports Promotion Board said before the start of the Women's Inter-Department Hockey Nationals.
In the third and final match on Thursday, Sports Authority of India ran out 4-0 winners over UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Academy. Captain F Lalawmpuii (5’, 44’, 53’) led the goal scoring exploits with a hat-trick, followed by another goal from Agnes Malsawmkimi in the 34th minute.
A total of six teams will vie for top honours at the 2nd Indian hockey Senior Women Inter-Department National Championship 2022 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The teams will play five matches each in the pool stage and the top two ranked teams will take on each other in the Final of the second edition of the Hockey India Senior Women Inter-Department National Championship 2022 on 30th March.
