PKL 9: Puneri Paltan welcome U Mumba in Match 22
Aslam Inamdar was the star for his side by scoring a super 10 in the previous encounter.
Puneri Paltan, who will play U Mumba, are coming from a defeat against Gujarat Giants losing by a 10-plus points margin. Aslam Inamdar was the star for Puneri scoring his second super 10 of the season with Mohit Goyat providing good support both in attack and defence in PKL 9. The foreign recruits Nabibaksh and Fazel failed to perform which could have been due to a lack of match practice.
U Mumba on the other hand is having a good time after the initial hiccup winning a crucial encounter against Tamil Talaivas 39-32. Guman Singh in particular stood up when it mattered the most scoring a super 10 and leading the raiding department. U Mumba at present occupies the fifth spot and Puneri Paltan occupies the 11th spot in the points table.

Head to Head
U Mumba holds a slight edge over Puneri Paltan winning nine matches with Puneri Platans winning seven in 18 matches played overall. Puneri Paltan defeated U Mumba in both the matches played in PKL 8.
Player to watch
Mohammed Nabibaksh was one of the most successful Iranians in the history of PKL scoring points in both attack and defence. He hasn't put up his best form since the last season playing for Bengal Warriors. Puneri Paltan put full faith in the all-rounder buying him for a big price and will need to put up a good show along with the young all-rounder Mohit Goyat.
Ashish was in great form in the last match against Tamil Thalaivas scoring a super 10. Guman Singh was provided with good support from the secondary raiders and will need to continue the same form going into the match against Puneri Paltan.
Key to Success
Puneri Paltan’s defence looked very poor even after the inclusion of Fazel Athrachali and Mohammed Nabibaksh. This can be attributed to a lack of match practice after the delay in the arrival of Iranian players. If the foreign duo are back to their usual form then the Puneri Paltan side will be the side to beat and the favourites.
U Mumba’s raiders did not put up a good show in the initial matches but came back stronger in the last match against Tamil Talaivas. Both Guman Singh and Ashish scored a super 10 with Jai Bhagwan scoring 8 points. The Tamil Thalaivas defence put in too many unsuccessful tackles benefiting the U Mumba side which will also help their raiders to carry forward the momentum against Puneri Paltan.

Aslam Inamdar breached the 200 points raid mark in his 26th match at the PKL against the Gujarat Giants. Aslam Inamdar is only in his second PKL season.
