Mohammadreza Shadlu broke the record for most tackle points in a single match of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). With 16 tackle points and most importantly all of them coming from Super Tackles, he achieved a feat that’s gonna be remembered for a long period of time. He scored a total of 19 points in the match out of which 3 came as raid points. He did not have any unsuccessful tackle attempt in the match.
PKL 9 Match 87: UP Yoddhas vs Jaipur Pink Panthers
Jaipur Pink Panthers started the Pune leg on a poor note losing the first two encounters but have bounced back brilliantly and are currently a win away from getting to the top 2 spots in the points table. Arjun Deshwal has been the only reliable and consistent raider for the franchise and in the defence, Ankush has become the first defender to get to the 50 tackle points mark. Jaipur Pink Panthers will play UP Yoddhas in their next PKL 9 game.
UP Yoddhas were on a roll against Dabang Delhi KC where the “Dubki” king Pardeep Narwal himself scored 22 raid points and was just one point shy of creating the most raid points scored in season 9. With the resurgence of Pardeep Narwal and Surinder Gill in great form, the duo can go on to become one of the deadliest in PKL 9.
Jaipur Pink Panthers and UP Yoddhas have faced each other eight times in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Jaipur has won three matches whereas UP Yoddhas has come out victorious on other five occasions.
Player to watch
Sumit the left corner defender has looked in good touch for the past few games having scored tackle points consistently. He will be up against Arjun Deshwal who has been Jaipur’s only consistent raider this season. If Sumit succeeds to tackle Arjun then there are not many in the backup to revive the star raider.
Pardeep Narwal is back to his previous best as we have seen him in seasons 4,5, and 6 scoring raid points for fun. In the last encounter, Pardeep scored double super 10 against the hapless Dabang Delhi KC but will be up against a strong Jaipur defensive unit that has the best defending unit in season 9.
PKL 9 Match 88: U Mumba vs Telugu Titans
U Mumba ends the second leg of the season inside the playoffs spot and looks set to qualify for the knockout phases. U Mumba has got one of the best defensive units with the team majorly operating with five defenders and two raiders formula in the playing 7. Guman Singh had an off game against Jaipur Pink Panthers in the last encounter and looks set to dominate the raiding unit in the Hyderabad leg. U Mumba will next play Telugu Titans in their next PKL 9 game.
Telugu Titans after the loss to Bengal Warriors has mathematically ended their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs spot (top 6). The southern team would now like to sign off this season giving fans some joy and also testing out the unknown players present in the rank.
Head to Head
U Mumba and Telugu Titans have faced each other 15 times in the Pro Kabaddi League out of which, Telugu Titans have won four matches whereas U Mumba has come out victorious on nine occasions with two games ending in a tie.
Player to watch
Guman Singh shall be the player to watch from U Mumba. Anil CHapran in the recent few games has always fielded two raiders and five defenders in the playing 7 and has seen some success with that formula. For this to work again Guman has to keep performing against all the teams and against the improving Telugu Titans as well.
Parvesh Bainswal has scored his third high 5 of Pro Kabaddi season 9 and Siddharth Desai has been the consistent performing player. In the last encounter against Bengal Warriors, he waited patiently for the Bengal raiders to come in and then attack which he would fail to do before.
