Mohammadreza Chiyaneh achieves this remarkable record to write name into PKL history books
The defender from Iran did not have any unsuccessful tackle in the match.
Mohammadreza Chiyaneh broke the record for most tackle points scored by a single player in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League by scoring 16 points. Overall the left-corner defender scored 19 points (16 tackles and 3 raid points) against Dabang Delhi KC.
Out of the 27 points scored by Patna Pirates in the match 19 were scored by Mohammadreza Chiyaneh itself which is almost 70 percent of the team’s total score. Also, all the tackle points were scored in super tackle situations with the experienced cover defender Neeraj Kumar giving good assists.
What is even more interesting is that none of Patna’s defenders on the mat scored a single point and Shadlus tackle points were greater than the combined total of Dabang Delhi’s tackle points. Patna Pirates only had six successful super tackles before the clash against Dabang Delhi KC but Shadlu alone had eight successful super tackles the highest number of super tackles in a single match in the Pro Kabaddi League.
All the records created by Sahdlu were nullified by Dabang Delhi KC as Patna lost the encounter by a three-point margin (27-30). Sachin Tawar the primary raider did not feature in the starting 7 and his absence has affected the team very badly in the raiding department. He was the lone raider scoring points consistently and with playoffs, not far away the search for backup raiders should be a concern for Patna Pirates.
Dabang Delhi was on a five-match unbeaten streak at the start of season 9 and it was Patna Pirates who broke Delhi’s streak from where their season started having a downfall.
