Mohammadreza Chiyaneh leads the list after his exploits against Dabang Delhi KC this season.

Sahul Kumar is the latest entrant in the list of players who have scored ten or more tackle points in a single match in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history. He has also become the second defender after Surender Nada to record tackle points in double digits in a PKL play-off match. Sahul achieved the feat during the PKL 9 semi-finals as Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Bengaluru Bulls quite comprehensively to book a place in the finals.

Jaipur Pink Panthers eventually went on to lift the PKL 9 title after beating Puneri Paltan 33-29 in the final. This is Jaipur's second Pro Kabaddi league title, following the inaugural season championship win. In this article, take a look at the defenders with the most tackle points in a single PKL match.

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh (16 points)

The Iranian scored 16 tackle points in PKL season 9 against Dabang Delhi KC which has been the match of the season amongst defenders so far. All the 16 points he scored were from super tackles (three or fewer defenders) accounting for eight super tackles, the most in a single match.

Chiyaneh is also tied with Parvesh Bainswal for the most number of super tackles in PKL season 9, with both registering 10 super tackles each. Also, he scored more than 75 percent of the team's scores adding three raid points to the tally accounting for 19 points overall.

Manjeet Chillar,Neeraj Kumar, and Mohit Chillar (11 points)

The trio have scored 11 tackle points each in a single PKL match in different seasons. Manjeet Chillar scored 11 tackle points in PKL season 4 against his former club Bengaluru Bulls representing Puneri Platan in the league phase.

Unlike Chiyaneh, who scored all the points through super tackles, none of Manjeet Chillar’s tackle points came through super tackles in the 12 tackles involved. Until the start of season 9, Manjeet Chillar was holding the top spot in the tackles points list which was overtaken by Fazel Athrachali.

Neeraj Kumar in season 6 representing Patna Pirates scored 11 tackle points in the league phase against Puneri Paltan. He was the top defender for the franchise scoring 59 tackle points in 22 matches. Mohit Chillar too scored 11 tackle points.

Sombir Gulia, Surender Nada, Mahender Singh, and Sahul Kumar (10 points)

Sahul Kumar is the latest entrant to the list with 10 tackle points. In the 14 tackles attempted, Sahul Kumar scored ten points with a tackle strike rate greater than 75 percent against Bengaluru Bulls. For the second consecutive season, Sahul has breached the 50 tackle points mark overall in a season for Jaipur Pink Panthers, with 56 points in PKL season 9.

Surender Nada, representing U Mumba in season 2, scored 10 tackle points against Patna Pirates in the playoffs and helped U Mumba qualify for the final. The combination of Surender Nada and Mohit Chillar (SuMo) was successful that season and U Mumba went on to win the title after finishing runners-up in the inaugural season.

Mahender Singh and Sombir Gulia representing Bengaluru Bulls and Telugu Titans scored ten points each in the league phase of the fourth season against UP Yoddhas and Tamil Thalaivas respectively. Mahender Singh was the captain of the Bengaluru Bulls in PKL season 9 leading the team to the semi-finals.
