This decision comes as a surprise to everyone.

The Kabaddi Federation of India elections were supposed to be held on May 7 and the result was to be declared on the same day. But the election will not happen now. The court has put a stay on this and for this reason now once again the elections of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India have been postponed. This time Tejashwi Gehlot was also in the fray for the post of President of the Kabaddi Federation of India. Tejashwi Gehlot is the son-in-law of former AKFI President Janardan Gehlot and for this reason, his claim was considered very strong and a close fight was expected.

Madhur Singhal and Tejashwi Gehlot were in the fray for President's post

If we talk about Janardan Gehlot, he was the founder and president of the International Kabaddi Federation. Apart from this, he was also the President of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India for 28 years. In May 2013, he was made the President for Life of AKFI. He died in April 2021. After this, his son-in-law Tejashwi Gehlot was in the fray for the post of President of the Kabaddi Federation of India.

On the other hand, Madhur Singhal was in the fray for the post of President. Apart from this, Ramakant Singh was in the fray for the post of General Secretary. Rukmani Kamath, Krishna Lal Panwar, Vijayarani, Amanpreet Singh Malhi, and Rupak Debroy were vying for the post of Vice President.

It is believed that only the selectors who have selected the team for the Asian Games have been retained. It is being speculated that due to their personal interests, the selectors put a stall on the elections. Now how much effect this has on the Indian Kabaddi team, will be known only in the coming days.
