Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023: India vs Japan Live Updates
11:30 PM: Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s Live Blog of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 match between India and Japan.
Indian team started their Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 campaign with a bang by securing two victories on the first day. Indian team thrashed the hosts Korea by a huge margin of 76-13 in their first match. Indian team inflicted seven all-outs on Korea and the Korean team could not stand at all in front of this strong Indian team. Team India did not face any challenge at all from the Korean team throughout the match. Pawan Sehrawat, Naveen Kumar, Arjun Deshwal, Surjit Singh, Parvesh Malik, Nitesh Kumar and Nitin Rawal were in the starting seven for India.
Captain Pawan Sehrawat played a crucial role in both matches, stepping up in the absence of regular captain Sunil Kumar. Pawan displayed exceptional raiding skills and consistently scored points for the team. He initiated successful raids in both matches and in the game against Chinese Taipei, he was substituted with only 9 minutes remaining. Pawan Sehrawat’s raiding prowess was instrumental in Team India’s victories.
However, Navin Kumar and Arjun Deshwal couldn’t make a significant impact on the first day. Navin faced multiple tackles in the second match and sustained an injury, which puts his availability for the match against Japan in question. Arjun Deshwal provided support but didn’t deliver a standout performance.
