Bengal Warriors is a member of the first group of teams that started play in 2014. Thanks to the valiant efforts of skipper Maninder Singh and Iranian all-rounder Mohammad Esmail Nabibakhsh, the team won the championship in the seventh edition. A team with a strong intellectual core will have captain Maninder Singh looking to repeat it. The franchise has assembled its squad around “Mighty Mani” and was determined to reclaim him after his release before the auction.

The skipper will be hoping to see Shrikant Jadhav continue his form, especially in do-or-die raids in the last few seasons. The team from the east will depend on the corner pair of Nitin Rawal and Shubham Shinde to protect their side of the court. With coach K Baskaran at the helm, the season 7 champions will have a lot more to offer than they appear on paper.

Bengaluru Bulls had created a lot of stir after the auction having bought many experienced players in the auction. With the retention being a set of youngsters, coach Randhir Singh seemed to create a perfect blend going into the season. It might not reflect in the first game as they lost a close contest to Gujarat Giants. The season 6 champions had a lead of two points with 90 seconds to go but they conceded the lead and lost the game by three points.

But it was an overall performance with both their corner and cover defenders in sync causing crucial tackles. The combo of tall raiders in Neeraj and Bharat along with the quick feet of Vikash Kandola were a joy to watch. They will be lethal against the Bengal Warriors whose defense is to be tested in their first game of the season.
