Mumbai witnessed some high octane Kabaddi action in the sixth leg of the season.

The tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) has been exciting as expected and the Mumbai leg was no different. One of the best things from this leg is the fact that many PKL legends showed their class with Surjeet Singh and Jaideep Dahiya topping the numbers. Raiders always make the game of Kabaddi a joy to watch and it was the case this leg. Here’s to the Team of the leg.

PKL 10: Team of the Leg:

Raiders

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh (U Mumba)

U Mumba might not have had a great home leg but one man certainly had a wonderful outing getting the maximum cheers from the crowd. The young sensation Iran, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh has been the player to watch out for this season, and Mumbai’s last two opponents Haryana Steelers and Dabang Delhi witnessed as he single-handedly challenged them with 14 and 11 points respectively.

Guman Singh (U Mumba)

Zafardanesh might have the spotlight, but Guman Singh has surreptitiously brought consistency into the lineup. The classic example was the game against Jaipur when the Iranians had an off-day, Guman stepped up to score 13 points and troubled the likes of Sunil Kumar and Reza Mirbagheri. With 36 points from the Mumbai leg, the 24-year-old certainly walks into the Team of the leg.

Ashu Malik (Dabang Delhi)

The phrase ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going’ might be a cliche but sometimes we have to repeat it when it is due. Dabang Delhi has certainly not been left midway with the injury to Naveen Express as Ashu Malik has taken the league by storm since then. Mumbai leg was no different with 23 raid points in two matches with a stunning number of just six unsuccessful raids in 50 attempts in this leg.

Defenders

Sombir (U Mumba)

Sombir started off the home leg slowly, but the final game saw the left corner display his full potential. It was his precise move to stop Vinay that helped Mumbai score that decisive point and tie the game. It was a near-perfect game with just one successful tackle. Had he brought this consistency earlier, the season two champions would have won a game or two more in the home leg.

Jaideep Dahiya (Haryana Steelers)

The skipper of the Haryana Steelers was a wall in the Mumbai leg as he had a blast in the Mumbai leg. First against Maninder’s Bengal Warriors. But his best was saved for the last game as he stopped the Zafardanesh and Guman juggernaut to tie the game. He almost silenced the home crowd but it was a game that would have boosted the confidence of the team, thanks to Jaideep Dahiya.

Sagar (Tamil Thalaivas)

Tamil Thalaivas’s resurgence in the last season was directed by their then stand-in skipper Sagar and it seemed he has started doing the same in the Mumbai leg. First, he challenged the table toppers Puneri to a close game, and on the final day, he nailed the coffin on Pardeep Narwal’s Up Yoddhas with a 19-point win. The fans from the home of Kabaddi would like to see more of it in the coming weeks as well.

Surjeet Singh (Bengaluru Bulls)

Bengaluru has been slowly climbing up the ladder in the points table mainly due to the Surjeet Singh powerhouse. He couldn’t stop losing to the home team but the wrath of the loss was brunt by Patna Pirates as he stepped up with eight points against an in-form trio of Sachin Tanwar, Manjeet, and Sudhakar. If this is a sign of things to come, then better be ready to see him in this team week after week.
