PKL 10: Fazel Atrachali and coach share disappointed reaction after close defeat against Haryana Steelers

In PKL 10, despite facing a significant defeat in their first match, Haryana Steelers have now secured four consecutive wins. In their recent encounter, they defeated Gujarat Giants 31-29, elevating Haryana to the third position in the points table, while Gujarat slipped to the fourth position.

Defenders took the spotlight in this match, with Mohit Nandal scoring a high-5 for Haryana, and Gujarat’s Fazel Atrachali and Somveer delivering impressive tackles multiple times, though ultimately facing defeat.

After the match, Haryana’s coach Manpreet Singh highlighted the effectiveness of their advanced tackle strategy, while Gujarat’s coach Ram Mehar Singh expressed dissatisfaction with the raiders’ performance according to the situation.

Raiders could not score points as per the situation

Manpreet Singh stated, “Our mistake was giving them too many points in raiding. Gujarat’s raiders attempted to break our defense with feint movements, but we improved by adopting an advanced tackle strategy. We planned to limit Fazel Atrachali’s tackles.”

Ram Mehar Singh mentioned, “We made defensive mistakes, and where raiders should have scored points, errors occurred. Regarding playing Sonu Jaglan in playing 7, we prepare all these things according to the strategy.”

He added, “It was clear to us that if Rakesh’s points had come, and Sonu Jaglan had also scored points in the end, the situation would have been better for us. However, it didn’t happen, so Haryana got the win. Also, getting technical points did not prove beneficial for our team.
