PKL 10: Top five contenders to win MVP award

This season several players are in contention to win this prestigious award.
Fans have witnessed captivating action in Pro Kabaddi League season 10 (PKL 10). First off, since the league’s caravan structure has returned, spectators can now watch both their favorite team play and their favorite players from the other clubs. Additionally, teams have advanced the league by using various support staff techniques. Even while players have generated some amazing Kabaddi moments, the outcomes are ultimately what count.
Though not every club could make it to the playoffs, every fan would want their team to. While not all teams can move to the next round, some of the players have done exceedingly well this season as they are valued much beyond the amount they are paid for. Let’s look at the top five candidates who could win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Mohammadreza Chiyanneh – Puneri Paltan
In the last three seasons, one man who has dominated the league in every aspect, then it has to be Mohammadreza Chiyanneh. The Iranian has continued where he left off from the previous season, giving Pune the most versatile defense. His placement in the left corner puts any Raider who steps onto the mat at risk, and it will be difficult to take off the youngster’s orange armband.
He broke Manjeet Chillar’s record for the fastest 250 Tackle points in PKL career. With 78 points in 19 games, he will be looking to score 100 Tackle points and lead them to the title. Given the impact he has made, he is all set to take home the Most Valuable Player award.
Ashu Malik – Dabang Delhi KC
Had a list been created on the same subject before the outset of the competition, Ashu Malik’s name would not have appeared on it. The experts were discussing Naveen Express even during the first three weeks of the competition when one man was gradually but surely making an impression. However, Naveen Kumar’s unlucky shoulder injury during the Chennai leg turned out to be a godsend as the 23-year-old displayed his skills.
Ashu has been one of the season’s most influential players this season with 222 Raid points. Beyond that figure, Ashu’s record of the most successful raids, 190 has demonstrated his fitness and ability to attack the opposition’s defensive units. Dabang Delhi KC will play more games now that they have qualified for the playoffs, and he may win both the green band and the MVP award.
Arjun Deshwal – Jaipur Pink Panthers
Arjun Deshwal was rightfully named MVP for Season 9, as he was the most consistent raider of the entire season. He scored 296 raid points and had the most Super 10s of the season (17) throughout last season. With 233 Raid scores, the Asian Games gold champion has been ruling the charts this season as well.
With 14 Super 10s to his name, he has guided his team to victory more frequently than not this season. One of the greatest players in PKL history, Arjun Deshwal has high expectations for himself to build on his valiant performances from last season. Both Pink Panthers and Arjun Deshwal are favorites to defend their PKL and MVP titles respectively.
Sachin Tanwar – Patna Pirates
The Patna Pirates are a club that has won trophies thanks to their superstar Raiders. Even though Sachin Tanwar isn’t as well-known as Pardeep Narwal or Rohit, the 24-year-old has proven to be a formidable opponent on the mat. Sachin Tanwar’s success rate in do-or-die raids is one of his greatest qualities.
This Pirate has the most do-or-die points with 36 points from the most difficult circumstances. The Raider has been their leader this season and if continues his good form, Patna could very well keep their hands on the hands of the trophy for the fourth time. The Rajasthan-born player could lay his hands on the MVP award.
Ankush – Jaipur Pink Panthers
If Arjun Deshwal is for the Raiding department, then it is Ankush who is the leader of the Pink Panthers in the defensive unit. The left-corner defender was one of the cornerstones of Jaipur Pink Panthers’ title triumph last season. In 24 matches he scored 89 points which helped him lift the title in his debut season.
He has continued his good form this season as well, as he stood as a rock for Jaipur’s defense. It was his form that helped the inaugural champions record the longest unbeaten streak in PKL history (13 matches) this season. With him as steady as one could be, he is the valuable asset that the Panthers retained before the auction and he could repay it by winning the Valuable Player Award.
