The Asian Kabaddi Federation announced the schedule for the 6th Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025. The tournament, which will be held after eight years, will take place from March 6 to 8 and will be hosted by Tehran, Iran. Seven teams were split into two groups for the three-day competition.
Defending champions India are in Pool A with Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. Hosts Iran are drawn in Pool B with Iraq and Nepal. Having won the title in four of the five editions, India will start as favorites. They will begin their campaign on March 6 against their eastern neighbors Bangladesh and conclude the first day by playing Thailand.
They will start the proceedings on the second day with their final group game against Malaysia. India’s primary challenger will be Iran, they will play their first game against their traditional rival, Iraq. They will play the second game against Nepal on the second day.
The semi-finals will take place in the latter part of the day, while the final will be held on March 8. The eighth team of the tournament, Chinese Taipei, pulled out of the competition earlier this week, and the organisers haven’t been able to find a replacement.
