Puneri Paltan badly missed Aslam Inamdar in PKL 11.

Puneri Paltan captain Aslam Inamdar is likely to skip the 71st Senior Kabaddi National. According to reports, Aslam has not yet fully recovered from his injury. The all-rounder suffered a knee injury in November in season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League, during a Raid against Telugu Titans, he was attempting a toe touch which resulted in the injury.

He landed awkwardly and was seen limping on the mat. He was substituted immediately and they lost the match by a point. The PKL-winning skipper missed the entire Noida leg and Pune leg of the tournament. The defending champions missed their skipper badly as they failed to make it to the playoffs.

He had to undergo knee surgery and his recovery took time, due to which he had to miss the recently concluded 38th National Games in Uttarakhand. Aslam Inamdar‘s absence left a huge gap in his state team Maharashtra as they failed to make it to the next round in the eight-team tournament. In the three league games, they lost to Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh, the two teams that went on to play in the finals.

After returning home with a bronze medal last year, Maharashtra will hope he gets fit and plays in the senior nationals. Odisha is set to Host the 71st Senior Nationals Men’s Kabaddi Championship from 20th to 23rd February 2025. Aslam tried his bit to get fit for the competition as the Most Valuable Player of PKL 10 started his practice after the surgery.

But Doctors after a study of him have advised him to take it slowly to ensure his full recovery as Knee injuries are complicated and could be career-threatening as well. Maharashtra will have to pull their socks up to compete without Aslam. In Senior Nationals’ last year, Aslam was sensational as he took Maharashtra to the semi-final.

Maharashtra lost to Haryana in the semis with Nitin Dhankar and Ashu Malik stealing the one-man show of Aslam. It was a close contest with Aslam putting on an all-round show but it wasn’t enough as they lost 38-37. Aslam will not be able to take part in the tournament and fans are wishing him a speedy recovery.
