Bengal Warriorz vs Tamil Thalaivas: All time Head-to-Head record in Pro Kabaddi
Bengal Warriorz have a seven-win lead over Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Bengal Warriorz and Tamil Thalaivas take pride in performing well in leagues and it is no different in the Pro Kabaddi League as well. Bengal Warriorz have lifted the PKL title once but Thalaivas haven’t. They desperately want one and it is evident in the way they planned the auction to get Sachin Tanwar.
It did reap rewards as they were topping the charts at the end of 30 matches in PKL 11. But things have gone haywire as they have lost four matches in a row and are struggling at 10th place. Bengal Warriorz’s journey has been marred with consistency as they haven’t been able to win two matches in a row.

Both teams would want to get their journey in the Pro Kabaddi League back on track on Saturday. While we await a great encounter, let’s look back at the history between these two teams in PKL. In 2017, when the league expanded to 12 teams, Tamil Thalaivas were introduced. These two teams produced three thrilling contests with Bengal winning two of them.
While the numbers might be favouring Warriorz, the moment of the season belongs to Tamil Thalaivas and their then-skipper Ajay Thakur. In Match 92 of season five, Ajay went into the Bengal’s half trailing a point and it was the last raid of the match. Ajay lured both the corner defenders and executed his classic escape move to get two points and the win.
The frog jump celebration after the win would still be in the hearts of the Thalaivas’ fans. The joy didn’t last long as the Bengal registered seven wins in seven matches in the next three Pro Kabaddi League seasons. Thalaivas tried with all their might, even hiring former Bengal defenders Ran Singh in season seven and Surjeet Singh in season eight.
It was of no avail as they lost all the matches played between these two teams from Pro Kabaddi League season six to eight. On the other hand, Bengal benefitted from their imports from Thalaivas as the Tamil Nadu boy K.Prapanjan not only scored a Super 10 against his former team but also was key in Bengal winning the title in season seven.
Thalaivas decided to invest in the youngsters in Pro Kabaddi League season nine which brought in Narender Kandola into the line-up. The Dubki Prince helped Thalaivas break the jinx as they beat the Bengal Warriorz for the first time in four seasons with a 13-point performance. He had also scored a super 10 earlier in the season which helped them tie the match.
The last Pro Kabaddi League season saw both teams produce two high-scoring thrillers. Not only did Maninder (16 points) and Narender (13 points) score Super 10, Shubham Shinde scored a Super 10 in tackles with a whopping 11 tackle points. But the best was awaited in the final match of the season for both teams as they produced a record-shattering performance.
Both teams were out of the playoff race and were playing for pride. Thalaivas decimated the Warriorz with a 74-37 scoreline. The total of 111 points is the most in a single PKL match and Thalaivas executed six All-Outs, which is a PKL record as well. Narender was the hero with 17 points and he would want to repeat it on Saturday.
