The legendary coach has been leading the team since the league’s inception.

Pro Kabaddi League‘s (PKL) outfit Bengaluru Bulls announced the departure of their longest-serving head coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat on Tuesday. This decision comes in after the Bulls experienced a horrible PKL 11 campaign and failed to put up a strong fight. Sehrawat took charge of the team in the inaugural edition and now leaves the franchise after 11 seasons in charge.

“For over a decade, “Coach Saab” Randhir has been a cornerstone of our team’s journey, playing an integral role in shaping the success and achievements we have celebrated together. His dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact on the Bengaluru Bulls family,” the Bulls posted on their social media handles.

They also expressed their gratitude towards the veteran tactician and thanked him for all his contributions over the years.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Randhir for his invaluable contributions and wish him nothing but the very best in his future endeavours,” the Bulls added.

The head coach took over the reins of the Bengaluru Bulls in the inaugural PKL season in 2014 and looked after the affairs for eleven seasons in a row. Sehrwat was the only coach associated with the same franchise since the start of the league. During his time with the Bulls, Sehrawat witnessed everything the league had to offer.

The fact that he took the Bulls to the playoffs six times in eleven seasons speaks volumes about his determination and spot-on tactics. He also won the championship once in PKL 6 when the Bulls defeated Gujarat FortuneGiants in the final and secured their maiden title. Sehrawat’s last season in charge was a campaign to forget for the Bulls as they finished at the bottom of the table and managed to get just 19 points on board.

Randhir Singh’s comments

Sharing his thoughts on his departure from the Bengaluru Bulls, the head coach shared a message on his social media profile and wrote, “I have been coaching the Bengaluru Bulls team from season 1 to season 11 of PKL. It has been a long and eventful journey for me as a head coach,”

He also thanked everyone who was involved during his time with the Bulls and wished the team the very best for their future.

“I am grateful to the PKL management, franchise of Bengaluru Bulls, and the players for their trust and belief in me during this long journey. I wish the Bengaluru Bulls team success in their future endeavours. I feel this is the right time for me to resign from the post of Head coach of Bengaluru Bulls. Once again, I thank you all,” he signed off.
