Dabang Delhi and Gujarat Giants share the h2h record in the Pro Kabaddi League.

Dabang Delhi are on a four-match unbeaten run, making a comeback in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 table. After losing four matches on the trot, the Delhi-based franchise has managed to win the next two games, before drawing another one and then winning their most recent fixture against the struggling Bengaluru Bulls. With this mini-comeback, the team now sits sixth on the league table with five wins, five losses, and a draw from 11 games, thus accumulating a total of 32 points.

Naveen Kumar is nearing his return to the mat, having suffered a knee injury very early into the season that ruled him out for more than five PKL 11 matches. However, the Dabangs haven’t missed the Naveen Express thanks to the consistency of their other star raider, Ashu Malik, who also leads the list of raiders with the most raid points in the Pro Kabaddi League 11 so far. The support provided by the likes of Vinay Virendra and Mohit Deswal in the recent games means the Delhi-based franchise has continued to keep winning points from every game.

Right-corner Yogesh Dahiya and left-corner Ashish Malik have been the best raiders for the team in the league, collecting 31 and 21 points respectively. However, no other defender has shown any promise so far and thus, Dabang Delhi lie second from the bottom in the list of teams with most average tackle points per game in Pro Kabaddi League 2024. For the team to continue on its momentum, they would need more from their defence and hope that Naveen Kumar is back on the mat as early as possible.

Delhi’s opponents in the next match, Gujarat Giants, haven’t had any luck in the tournament so far. They have only two wins from 10 games and it is difficult to see them qualifying for the Pro Kabaddi League 11 knockout stages anymore.

Coach Ram Mehar Singh has tried every possible combination in the defence and the raiding departments but no one except for Guman Singh has shown the consistency necessary for a team to challenge for a spot in the top six.

With the poor form of the Giants, Dabang Delhi would hope their momentum in the Pro Kabaddi League keeps going. This will be the first time the two teams face each other in the league this season. The Adani Sports Line-owned franchise has a better average tackle points rate than Dabang Delhi. They would bank on their defenders’ ability to put a stop to the great run of form of Ashu Malik and hope Guman Singh and Himanshu combine well as the two raiders.
