Dates & venue for Women's Kabaddi World Cup 2025 announced

The tournament will take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh!
The IKF (International Kabaddi Federation) has announced the new dates and venue for the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025. The tournament will now take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 15th to 25th November.
This marks a historic moment, as it will be the first-ever Kabaddi World Cup to be held outside India, with all previous editions of both the men’s and women’s Kabaddi World Cup having been hosted in India.
Earlier announcements

The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 was originally scheduled to take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from June 1 to June 10, but the state later withdrew from its hosting responsibilities.
Following that, the IKF announced that the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad would host the tournament from August 3 to 10. However, in a surprising turn of events, the venue has been relocated once again, this time to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh hosts the Bangabandhu Kabaddi Tournament every year, which attracts a large number of kabaddi fans. The announcement of the Kabaddi World Cup 2025 has brought great joy to all kabaddi enthusiasts in Bangladesh.
Previous edition
The first and previous edition of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup was hosted in Patna, Bihar, in 2012. A total of 16 teams participated, and 31 matches were played throughout the tournament.
The Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team emerged victorious in the final, defeating Iran by a score of 25–19. Japan and Thailand finished jointly in third place after losing their respective semifinals.
Nations participating
For the second edition of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, a total of 14 teams will participate: India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Japan, Poland, Uganda, Kenya, Hungary, Thailand, Nepal, Germany, and Argentina.
The Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team last played in the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 held in Tehran, Iran, where they defeated the host nation Iran in the final by 32–25 to clinch the title.
The Indian team has been dominant in international kabaddi, winning three out of four Asian Games gold medals and securing a silver medal in the 2018 edition. They also won the inaugural and only Women’s Kabaddi World Cup held in 2012.
