Five defenders who can replace Joginder Narwal at Dabang Delhi

Dabang Delhi emerged as the champions of PKL 8 by defeating Patna Pirates in the final. It was a special achievement for skipper Joginder Narwal as he led his side to glory after heartbreak in the final in PKL 7. Narwal’s experience and skillset came in handy for Dabang Delhi as they lifted their first Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) title.

Narwal has produced numerous magical moments on the mat for both India and Dabang Delhi over the years. But his age has had a major say in his run of form in recent times. He’s already 36 and has already surpassed his prime. 

On that note, we take a look at five defenders who can replace Joginder Narwal at Dabang Delhi.

5. Surender Nada

Nada displayed a better version of himself in PKL 8 and earned applauds from pundits all across the country. He played a total of 21 matches in the PKL Season 8 and made a total of 100 tackles in which he scored 45 points. His experience can be very useful for the team. Surender is a left corner specialist and can be the like-to-like replacement for Joginder Narwal.

4. Sandeep Khandola

Sandeep Kandola was one of the few positives for Telugu Titans in a season to forget. He looked solid throughout the tournament and scored 42 points in 16 matches. Sandeep Kandola has been a part of numerous PKL sides and is well aware of the strong and weak points of different teams. He possesses exceptional game reading skills and is very good at Super Tackles. 

3. Girish Ernak 

Girish holds enough power to single-handedly take toll of any raider, thanks to his well-built physique. He is an experienced campaigner and can also lead Dabang Delhi if he comes in as a replacement to Joginder Narwal. He scored 46 points in 19 matches while playing for Gujarat Giants in the PKL Season 7. 

2. Vishal Bharadwaj

Vishal Bhardwaj has always been considered to be a prospect in Indian Kabaddi. The young gun is famous for his ankle holds. He displayed a mature version of himself in PKL 6 when he was a part of Telugu Titans.

He scored 47 tackle points in 20 matches. Vishal Bhardwaj is still a young player and can be a player for the long run should he replace Joginder Narwal

1. Saurabh Nandal

Saurabh Nandal was one of the top three defenders of PKL season 8. He scored 63 points in total in 24 matches. Nandal is a strong believer of no-nonsense defending and executes his tackles to perfection on most occasions. He was bought by the Bengaluru Bulls but his performances were worth more. In such a situation, if the Bulls release him, then Dabang Delhi should rope him in.
