Jaipur Pink Panthers have a one-win lead over UP Yoddhas in the head-to-head record in Pro Kabaddi League.

Jaipur Pink Panthers are set to take on UP Yoddhas in match 35 of Pro Kabaddi League 11 as they look to bounce back to winning ways after being winless in three matches. Jaipur Pink Panthers have 14 points from five games in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11.

The Jaipur-based franchise has two wins, two losses and a draw from the five games in PKL 11. Jaipur Pink Panthers are the highest-scoring team in the league so far, averaging above 36 points per game. The team relies on the combination of tight defence and having the best raider in the league to keep the scoring board ticking.

Despite having Arjun Deshwal missing a lot of time owing to poor form and injuries in the recent Pro Kabaddi games, Jaipur Pink Panthers have generally looked like a strong unit. The raider’s form will pick up soon as he has started spending a lot of time on the mat in recent matches. However, it wouldn’t hurt Jaipur to find a second raider who can score points when needed as Abhijeet Malik and Neeraj Narwal are yet to score big consistently.

The quartet of Lucky Sharma, Ankush Rathee, Raza Mirbagheri and Surjeet Singh have contributed well as a unit in the defence. There are no particular standouts but the best defender of Season 9, Ankush Rathee has the most tackle points of the four. Surjeet Singh’s revival this season has helped the team overcome the loss of Sahul Kumar who has joined UP Yoddhas.

UP Yoddhas have been in a slump of their own in Pro Kabaddi. The Yoddhas have just one win and three losses in their last four games in the Pro Kabaddi league. The team has struggled with the form of Surender Gill who now has eight points in those four games. Gagan Gowda and Bhavani Rajpoot have chipped in but the team hasn’t looked convincing with them as the Raiders.

Add to that the hard-to-explain Jasveer Singh’s decision to use the only in-form raider, Bharat Hooda, as the third-choice raider against Patna Pirates, which raises the question of whether the struggles of the Lucknow-based franchise are down to the players or its coaching staff.

Jasveer Singh was left red-faced as the decision to drop Bhavani Rajpoot for Gagan Gowda after one poor game and to use Bharat as the third-choice raider backfired massively as the Yoddhas gave away a 10-point lead and lost by five points to the Pirates.

UP Yoddhas have also struggled to find an able support for Sumit in the defence as the likes of Ashu Singh and Mahender Singh have been inconsistent. Sahul Kumar has been missing after his High 5 from the season opener of the Yoddhas.
