Kabaddi fraternity hails Indian women's cricket team for World Cup 2025 win

India defeated South Africa in the final of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The India Women’s Cricket Team created history on Sunday by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, defeating South Africa by 52 runs. Star Kabaddi players and coaches congratulated the team for ending their 50-year trophy drought with an outstanding performance.
The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) concluded just a few days ago, with Dabang Delhi emerging victorious in the final against Puneri Paltan.
During the post-season press conference, Puneri Paltan’s head coach Ajay Thakur and captain Aslam Inamdar extended their best wishes to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team ahead of the World Cup Final.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team fulfilled those wishes by winning their first-ever World Cup. Following this historic victory, congratulatory messages poured in from stars across Bollywood and various sports, including prominent names from the Kabaddi fraternity.
PKL teams hail the Indian women’s cricket team
Many teams took to social media to celebrate India’s historic World Cup win, including the PKL Season 12 champions, Dabang Delhi. They shared a post on Instagram with the caption, “हमारी छोरियां छोरो से कम हैं के,” which translates to “Our girls are no less than the boys.”

The three-time champions of the league, Patna Pirates, also congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team on Instagram, posting with the caption, “Tiranga ucha aur dil garv se bhara 🇮🇳,” meaning “The tricolour flies high and our hearts are filled with pride.”

The Telugu Titans also congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team, posting with the caption, “They didn’t just play the game, they changed it forever.”

Kabaddi Players and Coaches congratulate the women’s cricket team
The current Indian Kabaddi team captain and Arjuna Awardee, Pawan Sehrawat, extended his congratulations to the Indian women’s cricket team. He posted on his Instagram story, writing, “Congratulations, Team Blue! You brought joy and pride to the nation… keep it up!”

The two-time PKL champion, Asian Games gold medalist, and Arjuna Awardee coach Sanjeev Baliyan also shared a post celebrating the Indian women’s cricket team’s World Cup victory on his Instagram story.

Former Kabaddi stars Rahul Chaudhari, ex-Indian captain Deepak Niwas Hooda, and Rishank Devadiga also joined in celebrating the moment, posting on their Instagram stories and feeds to congratulate the Indian women’s cricket team on their historic World Cup win.
