National Games is a multi-sport event cloned like the Olympics, where all states and Union Territories from India participate to claim glory for their respective teams. Along with many other games, Kabaddi is also set to be a part of this grand sporting fest in both indoor and beach versions.
In the 38th National Games, over 10,000 athletes will compete for the medals in 32 sporting events. It is going to be a spectacular stage for sporting events, with even more grandeur than the last two editions. The IOA President, PT Usha stated, “The 38th National Games in Uttarakhand promise to be a landmark event in promoting both traditional and modern sports in India”.
The committee has kept the nation’s roots in mind and decided to give a new turn to a few sports that have not been in the limelight for the past many years. The IOA has added kalarippayattu, yogasana, mallakhamb, and rafting as demonstration sports for the 38th National Games. Other than these 4, Kabaddi is another ancient game of India that has picked up massively in the last decade, and here are some points to know about it in the upcoming National Games edition.
