Sonipat Stars will face Gurugram Gurus in the opening match of KCL Haryana

The inaugural edition of the Kabaddi Champions League (KCL Haryana) will take place from January 25 to February 7. The Sports University of Haryana at Rai in the Sonipat district will serve as host to all games of the competition.

A total of eight franchises are taking part in the KCL 2026, which will witness the participation of 128 players. Among the eight teams, Sonipat Stars stand out as one of the finest outfits due to the presence of skilful players. The perfect mix of experience and youthfulness is expected to help them have a deeper run in the tournament.

On that note, let’s take a look at the predicted playing 7 of the Sonipat-based franchise ahead of the tournament.

Sonipat Stars’ predicted starting 7-

Ayan Lohchab – Center

KCL Haryana: Sonipat Stars' strongest starting 7 ft. Ayan Lohchab

Ayan Lohchab will be the most important player for the Sonipat Stars, who bought him for INR 18.40 lakh. He made his Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) debut in the 2024 edition for the Patna Pirates and earned 184 raid points in 25 games, while racking up seven Super 10s.

Lohchab emerged as the finest raider in PKL 2025 with 316 points and 16 Super 10s. Notably, he had a success rate of 73.33%, signifying his dominance in the tournament.

With his sharp footwork and fearless attitude, Lochab was the torch-bearer for the Pirates. He will look to continue his supreme form and meet the expectations of the Kabaddi enthusiasts once again.

Navdeep Duhan – Right Corner

The Stars secured the services of Navdeep Duhan for a significant amount of INR 6.2 lakh. Duhan emerged as the best defender in the PKL 2025, with 73 tackle points in 21 appearances for the Patna Pirates while accumulating six high fives.

Avi Duhan – Right Cover

Avi Duhan’s PKL debut came in the 2025 season for the Telugu Titans. He garnered 29 tackle points in 20 appearances, with three super tackles. With experience of rubbing shoulders with experienced players, Duhan could play a crucial part in the team’s success.

Nitin Rawal – Left Corner

Beginning his PKL career in 2017, Nitin Rawal has so far amassed 181 tackle points in 120 games. The veteran star’s finest season came in 2024 for the Bengaluru Bulls, where he notched up 74 tackle points, with a success rate of 52%.

Rahul Dagar – Left cover

Making his PKL debut in 2025 for the Telugu Titans, Rahul Dagar was bought for INR 1.9 lakh by the Sonipat Stars. So far, he has played only two games in the PKL, and the tournament might be a perfect platform for him to prove his merit again and get retained by the Titans.

Harsh Kumar – Left In

Harsh Kumar gained prominence after his impressive performances at the Yuva Kabaddi series tournaments. In 22 games, he has scored a total of 95 raid points, with four Super 10s.

In particular, Kumar had a raid strike rate of 60.18% in the Yuva All Stars Championship 2025.

Mohit Kalkanda – Right In

Mohit Kalkanda is likely to serve as one of the raiders for the Sonipat Stars in their first-choice XI. His presence offers flexibility and healthy competition against other raiders like Parveen Banta and Vijay.
