MFine to conduct COVID-19 testing for PKL Season 8

The league is returning after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
India’s leading Digital Health startup, MFine has announced its appointment as the Medical Testing Partner for vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8. MFine will be responsible for the COVID-19 testing for the tournament. This includes comprehensive COVID-19 daily RT-PCR tests for all the 800+ members comprising players, coaches and support staff. MFine is the official testing partner for PKL and will begin testing once the teams start arriving in Bengaluru.
Started in 2014, PKL is owned and run by Mashal Sports Pvt. Ltd. The tournament uses a franchisee-based model with 12 teams participating this year including Dabang Delhi, Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, Bengal Warriors, Bengaluru Bulls, Puneri Paltan, Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans, U Mumbai and UP Yoddha.
Returning after almost 2 years, PKL Season 8 will commence on 22nd December 2021. PKL will be the first professional indoor contact sports league in India to conduct its regular season. Mashal Sports is especially focused on its comprehensive and stringent Covid-safety framework and adhering to the safety protocols set by the authorities.
MFine offers dedicated COVID-19 tests and diagnostics for its users along with a wide array of lab tests. Apart from offering the standard RT-PCR test with a 24-hr report window to check the presence of active SARS-CoV-2 virus, MFine offers the COVID- antibody test which checks IgG antibody levels to indicate if one has been exposed to COVID-19 infection recently. There are also COVID-19 Inflammatory tests available for COVID-19 positive patients to measure the severity of inflammation & infection which helps in assessing the need for hospitalization and treatment. More than 150,000 COVID-19 tests have been booked via MFine since the start of the pandemic, making it easier for hundreds of people to access the best possible care from their homes.
Since MFine’s inception, over 3 million users have used MFine services with the platform clocking over 300,000 monthly transactions that include doctor consultations, diagnostic tests, e-pharmacy and in-patient procedures. In October 2018, MFine added another layer to its virtual doctor consultations by integrating with laboratory and diagnostic services and currently provides its users access to more than 700 diagnostic centres across 400 cities in India. Over 100,000 users use MFine for booking diagnostic tests every month.
More than 6000 doctors, including some of India’s top doctors from over 700 reputed hospitals practice across 35 specialties on MFine and serve millions in more than 1000 towns across India. In early 2021, MFine launched an app-based SPO2 (blood oxygen saturation) monitoring tool which enables users to keep track of their oxygen saturation levels without needing an additional device. Since then, 500,000 users have used the tool and thousands of people continue to use it daily. In the coming months, MFine will be extending the tool to measure heart rate and blood pressure too.
