U Mumba‘s top-two ambitions have suffered a huge blow as they lost 33-34 to 10th-placed Gujarat Giants in their last match. With games against teams above them remaining, the season two champions wouldn’t want more slip-ups.

Sombir has been the best defender, with 43 tackle points. Sunil Kumar and Rinku, who aren’t far behind, have had a good season too. In the raiding department, Ajit Chouhan has been a revelation with 143 raid points and is fourth in the list of most raid points. Manjeet, playing the role of supporting raider, has surprisingly been a bit inconsistent.

On the other hand, Tamil Thalaivas secured a 40-27 victory against the Giants in their previous match, to keep themselves in contention. However, with a young side, they have a tough road to securing a spot in the playoffs.

Their defense has been largely unstable, with plenty of chops and changes. The versatile Nitesh Kumar, who has been stunningly comfortable in all four positions, has scored 52 points in 16 matches. Amirhossein Bastami, replacing the injured Sagar has had a decent season.

The raiding unit has been a bigger cause of concern, with marquee signing Sachin failing to deliver and Narender getting ruled out due to injury. However, Moein Shafaghi with 61 raid points in 10 games (two Super 10s) has been impressive in recent times and has taken the role of lead raider seamlessly. The likes of Sourabh Fagare and Vishal Chahal have been playing the role of support raiders.
