Pardeep Narwal is a name that has become synonymous with Kabaddi.

Pardeep Narwal’s name isn’t just etched in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history books, it lives in the soul of the sport. A boy from a small village in Sonipat, who once helped his family plough the fields, went on to carry the weight of an entire league on his shoulders.

After rewriting every possible record, Pardeep remained just as grounded as he was when he first stepped onto the mat, a farmer at heart, a Kabaddi warrior in spirit.

On what felt like the end of a golden chapter, Pardeep Narwal, fondly known as the ‘Dubki King’, announced his retirement from professional Kabaddi, leaving fans across the nation teary-eyed. The announcement came just a day after he went unsold in the PKL season 12 auction, an outcome that few could have imagined for the league’s most decorated raider.

But that’s the beauty of Pardeep. Not once did he complain. No spotlight tantrums. No loud farewells. Just a simple, heartfelt goodbye in a live session, promising his fans he’d still be around, in coaching, mentoring, or simply being the humble guardian of the game he loves.

From scoring just nine points in his debut season to an unimaginable 369 raid points in a single campaign, Pardeep’s journey is a testament to grit, grace, and greatness.

Despite amassing a record-shattering 1810 raid points, 88 Super 10s, and leading Patna Pirates to three consecutive titles, Pardeep has never been one to chase the spotlight. His ‘dubki’ wasn’t just a move, it was poetry in motion, a moment that left defenders clueless and fans breathless.

But beyond those flashy numbers, it was his simplicity that touched hearts. He didn’t chase fame. He never sought glamour. He just wanted to play Kabaddi, and he did, with all his heart. While others built brands, he built memories. There was no showmanship, no loud declarations, just silent confidence and the fierce hunger to raid, to dive, to dubki. He let his performances do all the talking.

Off the mat, he remained the same village boy, modest, shy, and content helping out on the family farm when not in action. Despite being the highest-valued player of his era, Pardeep never let success change him. He let his actions speak for themselves, and his silence spoke volumes.

Now, as he steps away from the spotlight, Kabaddi won’t be the same without its king. But legends never really retire, they live on in the echoes of the crowd, in every young raider who dreams with a dubki in mind, and in the memory of every match he turned into magic.

Thank you, Pardeep Narwal. For the moments, the performances, the lessons, and above all, for being you.
