PKL 11 Auction: Rahul Chaudhari goes unsold yet again
Rahul Chaudhari went unsold last season at the auction as well.
Rahul Chaudhari was the poster boy for Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) after sensational performances in consecutive seasons. However, the raider did not find any buyers once again at the PKL 11 auction. He went unsold at the auction as no franchise was prepared to invest in the veteran. He was also unsold during the PKL 10 auction as well.
Rahul Chaudhari started his PKL career with Telugu Titans in 2014, scoring 161 points in 14 matches for the outfit. He spent six seasons with the franchise, scoring more than 100 points in all but one campaign. However, Chaudhari’s recent form has been underwhelming considering his previous standards. In 2019, he joined the Tamil Thalaivas and scored 138 points for them in 22 outings. After that season, Chaudhari’s career started rolling downhill.

Year 2021 saw him join Puneri Paltan where he managed merely 13 points in seven appearances, playing the role of backup raider and failing to achieve success in doing that too.
The next destination for the Pro Kabaddi League veteran was the Jaipur Pink Panthers in season nine. It was a mediocre campaign for the raider where he made 21 appearances and scored 73 points for the side.
Comeback on the cards?
In a surprising turn of events, Rahul Chaudhari went unsold at the auction in the previous campaign of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Jaipur Pink Panthers recruited him later on base price but the campaign needed something to write about. He made four appearances and scored six points in a forgettable season.
Fans of the veteran raider are hoping that he makes a strong comeback but it would require a franchise to take a risk and recruit him at the auction. He certainly has the tools to succeed albeit they need some sharpening. His loss of speed which used to be a major factor in his overall gameplay is a grave concern.
Overall, Rahul Chaudhari has amassed 1106 points in the Pro Kabaddi League from 154 matches played. Moreover, he has produced 25 Super Raids and 42 Super 10s in his PKL career. He brings experience and a winning mentality to the squad that could make a difference to any team.
