Puneri Paltan is currently on top of the points table of PKL 11.

The second week of Pro Kabaddi League season 11 is here and in an exciting encounter at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad defending champions Puneri Paltan will take on Bengaluru Bulls. Both the teams are coming off losses and will look to change that.

Puneri Paltan made a great start to PKL 11 with a stellar 40-25 win over PKL 10 runners Haryana Steelers in a replay of last season’s finals. They followed it up with a win over three-time champions Patna Pirates by the same margin.

However, in the last match, they were held to a 5-point loss by the Tamil Thalaivas. Thus, the Aslam Inamdar-led outfit will look to bounce back to their winning ways in PKL 11.

On the other hand, Pardeep Narwal-led Bengaluru Bulls had the most adverse start to the PKL 11 season. The team has lost three consecutive games against Gujarat Giants, Telugu Titans and lastly UP Yoddhas. The ‘Dubki’ has regained his form, racking up 16 points against UP Yoddhas, but the team has not clicked as a unit. However, the Rnadhir Singh Sehrawat-coached outfit will look to register their first points of the PKL 11 against Puneri Paltan.

Players to watch out for:

Pardeep Narwal (Bengaluru Bulls)

Pardeep Narwal has made a return to the Bengaluru Bulls in PKL 11 after spending the last three seasons with UP Yoddhas. His comeback to the team where he made his Pro Kabaddi League debut has been a major talking point this season. While his first game for the Bulls this season was not up to his usual standards, Pardeep still made history by surpassing the 1700 raid points mark.

He quickly found his form, scoring nine points against Gujarat Giants, followed by an impressive 16-point performance against his former team, UP Yoddhas. In three matches in PKL 11 so far, he has racked up 28 raid points, averaging 9.33 points per game. With a successful raid percentage of 59.57%, Pardeep continues to show why he is known as the “Dubki King,”.

Gaurav Khatri (Puneri Paltan)

Gaurav Khatri has quickly risen to the challenge of filling the shoes of Puneri Paltan’s former defensive powerhouse, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh. Known for his strong ankle holds and timely chain tackles, Gaurav made a significant impact in the previous season, collecting 69 tackle points. His ability to consistently stop the raiders has made him a reliable defender for Puneri Paltan.

In PKL 11, Gaurav has already made his presence felt, racking up 14 tackle points across three matches with an impressive 70% tackle success rate. Despite a quieter outing against Tamil Thalaivas with just one successful tackle, Gaurav is expected to bounce back and regain his top form in the coming matches.

His current defensive stats, including two High 5s and an average of 4.66 successful tackles per game, show his potential to remain a key player throughout the season.
