PKL 11 Final: Key player battles to watch out for in, Haryana Steelers vs Patna Pirates

PKL 11 Final will be played on December 29.

Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) has reached its ultimate stage and it now comes down to the two best teams. Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates will go up against each other for the right to add a star in their respective jerseys.

Patna Pirates have already won it thrice and will be keen to win their fourth title while the Steelers are eyeing their first title having crashed out in the final last season. The lines are drawn for the ultimate game and it remains to be seen who comes out on top in the PKL 11 Final.

Mohammadreza Shadloui vs Devank Dalal

Mohammadreza Shadloui has been the best defender in the league in PKL 11. He has built upon his heroics from last season where he finished the season with the most number of tackle points and won the title with Puneri Paltan.

Shadloui has made it to his second consecutive final and will look to get his second trophy as well. His strong defensive acumen will come in very handy for the Steelers to keep a check on Patna Pirates’ star-studded attacking unit.

Devank Dalal on the other hand has been the most exceptional raider in PKL 11. He is guaranteed to win the green band having secured the most number of raid points so far (296). His smart and aggressive moves on the mat have been the driving force behind Patna’s run to the final. Moreover, he has a score to settle with the Haryana Steelers and there’s no better occasion than the final.

Rahul Sethpal vs Ayan Lohchab

Rahul Sethpal has emerged as one of the finest defenders in PKL 11. The right-corner defender has kept things very tight and rigid at the back and has not allowed many raiders to have a go at him. His strong defensive instincts coupled with his leadership abilities on the mat make him the perfect package for Haryana Steelers. With 70 tackle points, Sethpal accounts for 25% of Haryana’s tackle points this season.

But standing in his way will be Patna Pirates’ second most prolific raider Ayan Lohchab. The youngster has given a phenomenal account of himself in his debut PKL season and has fueled the Pirates to the PKL 11 final in the process. His synergy with Devank Dalal and ability to score points in high-pressure situations makes him an important asset. Moreover, he is fresh off a match-winning knock against Dabang Delhi in the semi-final.

Shivam Patare vs Ankit Jaglan

While the Haryana Steelers’ have been fantastic at the back, Shivam Patare has managed things upfront really well. He has been consistently dropping in match-winning performances in PKL 11 and has often been the point of difference. His pace and special raiding skillset are what sets him apart from the rest. He has notched up 158 raid points so far, including 21 points in the last two games. Additionally, he is also the second-highest scorer for the Steelers.

Ankit Jaglan on the contrary will have to shoulder the defensive duties for the Patna Pirates. The Skipper will have the responsibility of keeping the Haryana Steelers’ front at bay and also restricting them from taking silly bonus points. Jaglan has turned out to be a solid defender and is one of the favourites to win the orange band. Ankit is at the top of the charts for the orange band with 77 tackle points.
