Patna Pirates will face Haryana Steelers in the PKL 11 Final on December 29.

Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) finale promises an electrifying showdown as Haryana Steelers take on three-time champions Patna Pirates on Sunday, December 29, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. Both teams earned their spots in the final through hard-fought victories in the semi-finals.

Haryana Steelers edged past UP Yoddhas 28-25 in a tense encounter, thanks to standout performances from Shivam Patare, Vinay, and Mohammadreza Shadloui. Despite Gagan Gowda’s impressive Super 10, Haryana’s defensive solidity and a crucial ALL OUT in the second half secured their second straight PKL final appearance.

Meanwhile, Patna Pirates overcame Dabang Delhi K.C. with a 32-28 win in their semi-final. Devank and Ayan led the charge, while Shubham Shinde’s High-5 and Ankit’s key tackles sealed the deal. Even as Delhi leveled the scores late in the game, the Pirates’ composed finish, highlighted by Ayan’s decisive raid, ensured their fifth final appearance.

So who can lift the PKL 11 trophy?

As the two giants collide against each other, there will be fireworks for sure. However, considering the performances given by both these teams throughout the season, we at Khel Now believe that Haryana Steelers might have an edge over Patna Pirates to get their hands on the coveted trophy.

Coach Manpreet Singh’s philosophy of prioritizing a strong defensive unit over star raiders has been the cornerstone of the Haryana Steelers’ consistency. Under his leadership, the team has developed into a cohesive force, proving teamwork triumphs over individual brilliance.

This season, the Steelers addressed their one weak spot—the left corner—by signing Iranian defender Mohammadreza Shadloui for a record Rs. 2.07 crore. Despite an initial setback with Mohit Nandal’s release, including Sanjay at the right cover has solidified the defence.

The results speak for themselves, with the Steelers recording 274 tackle points, second only to Thalaivas. Standout performers like Rahul Sethpal, Shadloui, and Sanjay have been instrumental.

Manpreet’s belief in young raiders has also paid off, with Vinay and Shivam Patare leading a balanced attack. Even Shadloui has contributed to the same. Having reached three PKL finals earlier as a coach, Manpreet’s experience in high-pressure games is invaluable.
