PKL 11: Haryana Steelers complete squad

Haryana Steelers had the biggest addition to their squad as they spent 2.07 cr to buy Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui. The season 10 finalists had retained their defensive core and released the likes of Siddharth Desai and Chandran Ranjit from their raiding team. It was surprising to see them spending big bucks on another all-rounder and not on the Raiders.

But Manpreet Singh insisted on having a strong left corner and they wanted to replicate Puneri Paltan’s success. In the previous PKL season, one of the best defensive pairings was Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Nandal. In Season 9, Mohit Nandal scored 44 tackle points and Jaideep scored 54.

The duo continued their impressive run in season 10 with Mohit securing 70 tackle points and Jaideep shining high with 68 tackle points. They will also be joined by Rahul Sethpal from the right corner who topped the list of tackle points for the Haryana Steelers last season. The trio’s performance helped the Steelers qualify for the finals for the first time.

In the upcoming season, the Haryana Steelers‘ defense will have the challenge of dealing without Mohit Nandal, who has been released. According to sources, he was tested positive for a banned substance, while the right cover have appealed against it, as of now he has been released by the Haryana franchise.

The addition of Shadloui has ensured that their defense will be their primary weapon. But they need Steelers raiders Vinay and Shivam Patare to step up once again. The duo who will be the primary ones who will enter the opposition side of the mat to get points. The last two seasons have seen the previous year’s runner-up winning the title next season. Manpreet & Co. will look to repeat the feat in season 11.
