Haryana Steelers kicked off PKL 11 with a 35-25 loss against Puneri Paltan.

Haryana Steelers captain Jaideep Dahiya is set to miss the crucial Pro Kabaddi League season 11 (PKL 11) match against Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad. Dahiya is yet to make his appearance in the PKL 11 and seems like the fans will have to wait for it for some more time.

Captain Dahiya will miss the important match against Jaipur Pink Panthers after falling sick. The defender is reported to be down with a fever for some time now.

He even missed the PKL 11 opener against defending champions Puneri Paltan. Haryana Steelers have not made a good start to the PKL 11 after losing their first encounter by 10 points in a replay of the PKL 10 final.

While Shadloui and Rahul Sethpal put up a good yet modest show in the game, Jaideep’s absence was felt and Aslam Inamdar kept on racking up points.

Jaideep’s impact on Haryana Steelers

Jaideep Dahiya played a crucial role for the Haryana Steelers in the last Pro Kabaddi League season, racking up 68 points, second only to Rahul Sethpal. Known for his agility and strong tackling, Jaideep consistently disrupts opposition raiders with his quick, powerful defensive plays.

As the PKL 11 marks Jaideep’s fourth with the Haryana Steelers, head coach Manpreet Singh will rely on his defensive expertise once again.

Over the years, he has been a constant source of defensive points, and his form will be vital for the Steelers’ success this season.

In the previous season (PKL 10), Jaideep appeared in 23 matches, accumulating 69 points. He executed 131 tackles with a 47% success rate. He secured 68 tackle points, averaged 2.65 successful tackles per game, and pulled off 7 super tackles alongside 6 High 5s.

Despite a limited role in the offence, with only 12 raids and 1 raid point, his defensive presence remains his standout contribution.

The Haryana-based outfit would hope that the captain and star defender return to the setup soon. For now, their focus is on the upcoming game as they look to register their first points in PKL 11.
