Haryana Steelers finished at the top of the PKL 11 points table.

Haryana Steelers made history in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), claiming their maiden title with a stellar 32-23 victory over the Patna Pirates at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.

Haryana Steelers head coach Manpreet Singh alongside captain Jaideep Dahiya and CEO shared their thoughts on winning the PKL 11 trophy.

Haryana Steelers showed why they were the top team throughout PKL 11 with a flawless performance in the final. From the start, they took control of the match, with Shivam Patare leading the charge in raids and Mohammadreza Shadloui adding crucial points. Together with Vinay’s steady support, they kept the Patna Pirates at bay.

“Patna Pirates ne bol rakhha tha hum panne palat denge, toh maine jitne ke baad ye isara kiya ki ham panne nhi palat te ham sidha kitab hi fhad dete hai. Mere isara karne ka matlab vahi tha ki hamne kitab fhad di. Match se pehle woh bol rhe the Haryana se dobara khelenge tab unse badla lenge, toh maine kaha aa jao ham dikha denge badla kaise lete hai.”

“Hame pehle se hi pata tha ham unhe hara denge or isliye maine bol rakha tha last raid me mai jaunga or unhe jawab dunga.” said Jaideep Dahiya speaking on his celebration after the win.

What stood out was the Steelers’ defence. Rahul Sethpal and Jaideep were rock-solid, making it tough for the Pirates to break through. Despite a few strong moments from Patna, like Sudhakar’s early points, Haryana’s defence held firm, never letting the Pirates build momentum. Steelers also kept Patna Pirates’ star raiders, Devank and Ayan, in check throughout the game.

Haryana’s ability to manage the game, especially in the second half, proved decisive. Shadloui’s crucial raids and their first ALL-OUT stretched their lead, making any Patna comeback nearly impossible. The 32-23 victory marked Haryana’s first-ever PKL title, and it was clear from their team effort and tactical execution that they were the deserving champions of PKL 11.
