PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in Match 78, Dabang Delhi vs Patna Pirates

Dabang Delhi are coming into this match with a five-match undefeated streak in PKL 11.

Naveen Kumar’s Dabang Delhi will face three-time champions Patna Pirates in match 78 of Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

Dabang Delhi have been the most in-form team of the PKL 11 in the last couple of match weeks. Ashu Malik-led side have been on the upward trot and currently sit in fourth place at the points table. They have won six, lost five, and drew the remaining two of the 13 matches they played.

As for Patna Pirates, they have had a mixed season so far in PKL 11. They sit at the sixth spot in the table with seven wins from 12 matches. They are coming into this match after a loss against UP Yoddhas and will look to bounce back to winning ways.

Ashu Malik vs Ankit Jaglan

Ashu Malik has been the driving force for Dabang Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League this season.He is one of the league’s highest raiders with 148 raid points in 13 matches, and he has been incredibly consistent, recording 11 Super10s.

However, Malik will face a stiff test in the form of Patna Pirates‘ mainstay defender Ankit Jaglan, who has amassed 36 tackle points this season. Known for his aggressive style, Jaglan has registered four super tackles and remains a constant threat to raiders. This one of the league’s best raider against one of the top tacklers could turn out to be the decider of which team dominates the game.

Naveen Kumar vs Deepak

Naveen Kumar is one of the most important players for Delhi. He has amassed 36 points in the six matches at an average of 6 points per match and is known for his quick reflexes and sharp raids.

On the other side is the Patna defensive stalwart Deepak, who has turned out to be their more than reliable defender with 30 tackle points. Yogesh will have to read Naveen’s play and counter effectively as he has the possibility of affecting the balance of the match.

Devank, the raiding spearhead of Patna Pirates, has been sensational so far with 149 raid points, eight Super 10s, and a league-best tally of super raids in 12 matches. His explosive raids can dismantle defenses, making him a constant threat.

Standing in his way is Delhi’s defensive stalwart, Yogesh who has been an important defender for Delhi and has 39 Super tackles. If Ravi can neutralize Devank, it will boost Delhi’s chances in this high-stakes encounter.
