PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in Match 79, Haryana Steelers vs Puneri Paltan

Earlier in PKL 11 Puneri Paltan had claimed a 35-25 win over Haryana.

Puneri Paltan will lock horns with the Haryana Steelers in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) for a second time at the Noida Indoor Stadium in what will be a replay of PKL 10’s final.

The defending champions have experienced a major dip in form since the injury to Aslam Inamdar and have found it really tough to convert their draws and defeats into victories in PKL 11. Haryana Steelers on the contrary have enjoyed a fairytale season so far and find themselves at the peak of the PKL 11 points table.

Mohammadreza Shadloui vs Mohit Goyat

Mohammadreza Shadloui has been one of the top-performing players in the PKL 11. He has established himself as one of Haryana Steelers’ key figures in just his first season and has justified a hefty price tag. The Iranian all-rounder has made notable contributions on both ends of the mat, especially at the back. He has scored 78 points in total, including 45 tackle points in the PKL 11.

But, standing in his way will be Mohit Goyat who has been exceptionally impactful for the defending champions. Goyat is the leading scorer for Puneri Paltan with 65 raid points in the PKL 11. He also comes in and contributes to the defensive affairs of his side and has racked up 11 tackle points in the process. Mohit will need to be on his toes if he wants to get the better of his former teammate.

Vinay vs Gaurav Khatri

Vinay has led the line with perfection for the Haryana Steelers this season in PKL 11. He has put in some outstanding performances and has taken his side over the line a lot of times. In fact, Vinay is one of the reasons behind the Haryana Steelers’ magical run to the top of the table. He has scored 95 points in total and is the league’s seventh-joint-highest points-getter at the moment.

Gaurav Khatri on the other hand has been one of the finest defenders in the league this season. He has marshalled the troops with perfection for the defending champions and has kept things really. His strong defensive acumen coupled with his leadership abilities makes him a standout player for the Paltan. He has racked up 46 tackle points, the second-highest in the league this season.

Rahul Sethpal vs Pankaj Mohite

Rahul Sethpal has emerged as one of the telling factors behind the Haryana Steelers’ strong backline. His maturity and defensive prowess have come in very handy for the Steelers and have helped them secure valuable points this season. Sethpal has stood strong and has taken down multiple raiders this season and has earned 39 tackle points in the process.

Mohit Goyat will go up against the in-form defender with a clear intention of neutralising the threat possessed by him. Goyat is experiencing a phenomenal run of form and has led his side extremely well in the absence of skipper Aslam Inamdar. He will need to bring his best game to the table in order to get the better of Haryana Steelers’ defensive unit.
