Haryana Steelers need one win to qualify for PKL 11 playoffs.

Haryana Steelers delivered a commanding performance in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), securing a resounding 46-25 victory over the Telugu Titans in Match 101 at the Balewadi Stadium.

Telugu’s captain Vijay Malik and coach Krishan Kumar Hooda addressed the media after their loss, while Haryana’s captain Jaideep and coach Manpreet Singh shared their views on the team’s win in PKL 11.

On Shivam Patare’s performance and future

The table-toppers showed their dominance, led by a stellar effort from Shivam Patare, who scored 12 points to avenge their earlier loss to the Titans in the Noida leg of PKL 11.

“Shivam is a very talented player, but his only problem right now is inexperience. But he is very talented, he like a raw material who is ready for the Indian Kabaddi Team, ” said Haryana Steelers’ coach Manpreet Singh.

On the road ahead in PKL 11

Vinay set the tone early for Haryana Steelers with three quick raid points, while Telugu Titans’ Ashish Narwal briefly retaliated with an impressive raid. However, Haryana’s relentless pressure saw them inflict the first ALL OUT just nine minutes into the game.

“We all make mistakes, even when we win the matches, so our plan is to not make mistakes with the semifinals and finals coming up,” said Jaideep.

“You can’t take any team or any match in PKL 11 lightly, all are important. So our focus is to win all the matches and stay at the top,” he added.

By halftime, the Steelers had extended their lead to 28-9, bolstered by a second ALL OUT and an all-round display from Mohammadreza Shadloui, who contributed five points.

On the way forward for Telugu Titans

Despite valiant efforts from Telugu Titans’ captain Vijay Malik and Ashish Narwal, the lack of support from their teammates proved costly. Shivam Patare completed his Super 10 in the second half, while the Steelers’ defense stood firm.

Although the Titans avoided a third ALL OUT late in the game, the 21-point loss dealt a significant blow to their playoff hopes in PKL 11.

“What done is done, we will sit, make a new strategy, come up with a new plan and do better in the next game, ” concluded the Telugu Titans coach.
