On the road ahead in PKL 11
The victory was crucial for the Warriorz, keeping them in the playoff hunt, while also marking the end of the Bengaluru Bulls‘ campaign.
“Winning today’s match was very important. Our team is still in the running for the playoff spot, so we will try to win most matches and get as many points as we can, ” said Bengal Warriorz coach
On Maninder Singh’s absence and injury
The standout performances came from Vishwas S, who scored 13 points, and the defensive duo of Fazel Atrachali and Nitesh Kumar, who each contributed seven points. However, Bengal were without their star raider, Maninder Singh.
“Maninder has hurt his knee and is having some problem with movements but he will definitely play the next game, ” he added.
Bengal Warriorz took control early in the match, thanks to solid performances from Vishwas and a rock-solid defence led by Atrachali and Kumar. Their defensive strategy paid off as they inflicted the first ALL OUT on the Bulls with six minutes remaining in the first half, taking a 22-12 lead into the break.
On Bengaluru Bulls’ poor run of form
Although Bengaluru’s Pardeep Narwal tried to lead a comeback with a Super Raid, his efforts weren’t enough to close the gap.
“See defence and offence both made a lot of mistakes. They have that have put us here in this position, ” said Pardeep Narwal.
” See if one player plays well that does not matter much if the entire team does not. A team can only succeed if all the players have played well together, ” he added.
In the second half, the Warriorz extended their dominance. Nitesh reached his High 5, while Vishwas completed his Super 10. Despite Pardeep’s best efforts, including a Super 10, the Warriorz sealed the win with another ALL OUT, finishing the match with a comfortable 15-point lead and keeping their PKL 11 playoff hopes alive.
