Dabang Delhi sit in fifth place in the PKL 11 Points Table with 27 points.
Ashu Malik delivered an outstanding performance for Dabang Delhi K.C. in Match 50 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11), scoring 17 points and achieving his eighth consecutive Super 10 to secure a thrilling 38-38 tie with Puneri Paltan at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
Speaking to the media, Delhi’s captain Ashu Malik and coach Joginder Narwal followed by Puneri’s coach BC Ramesh and captain Pankaj Mohite shared their views after the PKL 11 match.
Despite missing key player Naveen Kumar, Delhi showed resilience and skill. However, Ashu Malik, stepping up as Delhi’s stand-in captain, reached 100 raid points in PKL 11, keeping his team in the game.
“Naveen will be back soon, you will probably get to see him on the mat in the next match itself, ” said Dabang Delhi coach Joginder Narwal.
On Aslam Inamdar being ruled out of PKL 11
Mohit Goyat inflicted the first ALL OUT on Dabang Delhi K.C. in the 10th minute, putting Puneri Paltan ahead. Puneri Paltan started strong, with Akash Shinde leading the raid in Aslam’s absence and defenders Aman and Abinesh Nadarajan contributing crucial tackle points.
“Aslam will be out for the season after the injury and we cannot do anything about it now. We have players who can play in his position and we will have to work with that, ” said Puneri Paltan’s coach.
“It’s not that Aslam’s absence has impacted us so bad that we could not win but it was just the situation. Our defence did not play well and hence the result,” he added.
Throughout the second half, Ashu continued to excel, securing his ninth Super 10 in 10 games, though support from his teammates was sparse. Puneri Paltan maintained pressure, inflicting a second ALL OUT on Delhi with just 10 minutes remaining.
But Ashu’s late Super Raid turned the game around, taking down Sanket Sawant, Mohit Goyat, and Aman, and delivering an ALL OUT on Puneri. A timely tackle by Gaurav Chillar and Ashu’s final raid secured the draw, with Dabang Delhi scoring 15 points in the last 10 minutes in an exhilarating PKL 11 encounter.
