Telugu Titans have been without captain Pawan Sehrawat for two consecutive PKL 11 games now.
In a thrilling Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) encounter on Wednesday, the Telugu Titans pulled off a narrow 31-29 victory over U Mumba at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
U Mumba’s coach and captain Sunil Malik addressed the media followed by Telugu’s captain Vijay Malik and Coach shared their views after the PKL 11 game.
It was a game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, with Ashish Narwal shining bright, scoring eight points and leading his team to a hard-fought win. Telugu Titans were without captain Pawan Sehrawat once again who has been sidelined with an injury.
“You will get to see Pawan soon on the mat. Our physio is working really hard with him for the rehab process. Every day they are working one-one and a half hours on his recovery. So he will be back very soon, ” said the Telugu Titans coach.
On momentum and facing Bengal Warriorz in PKL 11
The match kicked off with both teams trading successful raids and their defenders quickly finding rhythm. A brilliant two-point raid by Manjeet gave Telugu Titans an early edge, but U Mumba fought back with Sunil Kumar’s sharp tackle and Amirmohammad Zafardanesh’s Do-or-Die raid to take an 8-7 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, it was anyone’s game as the scores were tied at 12-12.
“Bengal Warriorz is a good team. If we play well, we will win. It is not about momentum, we should not just get too confident about it, that how a team loses, ” he added.
The second half saw the Titans step up, with Manjeet delivering another two-point raid and an ALL OUT on U Mumba helping them build a five-point cushion. But U Mumba refused to back down, with Sombir’s Super Tackle and key raids from Manjeet and Rohit Raghav keeping them within striking distance.
In the dying moments, U Mumba made it a one-point game, but the Titans held their nerve, sealing a memorable PKL 11 win with outstanding defence and composure under pressure.
