Tamil Thalaivas have won both their matches so far in PKL 11.

We are well into week two of Pro Kabaddi League season 11 (PKL 11) and three-time champions Patna Pirates will kick off the week when they take on Tamil Thalaivas in the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.

This will be the second game of three-time champions in the PKL 11 and they have not made the start to the season that intended to. The Narender Redu-coached outfit lost their PKL 11 opening encounter 40-25 to defending champions Puneri Paltan.

On the other hand, Tamil Thalaivas are coming into the PKL 11 game following two stellar wins. They kicked off PKL 11 with a 44-29 win over Telugu Titans. The Sagar Rathee-led team followed it up with a 5-point win over Puneri Paltan. However, captain Sagar Rathee has missed the game because of an injury and might be out for two weeks.

Players to watch out for

Jang Kun Lee (Patna Pirates)

Jang Kun Lee, the South Korean raider, has made his long-awaited return to the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) after being out of action for four years with Patna Pirates. Known for his electrifying moves on the mat, especially his iconic ‘Flying Korean Kick,’ Lee has always been a fan favourite in India.

With 471 points under his belt from previous seasons, his experience is invaluable. Now part of the Patna Pirates in PKL 11, the pressure is on him to lead the raiding department as the only player in the squad with more than 60 PKL games to his name.

However, Jang Kun Lee’s start to PKL 11 has been modest, managing just 1 raid point from his first match, with a 100% success rate in raids. While he didn’t have any super raids or tackles in his debut this season, his fans will be eager to see him regain his top form and showcase the skillset that made him one of the most exciting players in the league’s history.

Narender Kandola (Tamil Thalaivas)

Narender Hoshiyar Kandola has become a key figure for the Tamil Thalaivas after his impressive debut in PKL Season 9. With Pawan Sehrawat sidelined due to injury that season, Narender stepped up and led the team to their first-ever playoffs, earning him the New Young Player of the Season award. His consistency continued into Season 10, and he is now one of the most exciting players to watch.

In PKL 11, Narender has already made an exciting start, playing two matches and earning 19 raid points. With an average of 9.5 raid points per match and an 80% “not out” rate, he has been highly effective in his raids. His attacking prowess is evident with a 54.28% success rate in raids, which includes one Super Raid and one Super 10.
