PKL 11: Dabang Delhi continue unbeaten streak with win over Puneri Paltan
Ashu Malik sits second in the list of raiders with most points in PKL 11.
Ashu Malik was once again at the forefront for Dabang Delhi K.C. in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) as they secured a narrow victory over Puneri Paltan in match 102 at the Badminton Hall in Balewadi Stadium on Monday. He finished with 13 points and completed his 14th Super 10 of the PKL 11 season, propelling his team to fourth on the points table.
Dabang Delhi K.C. and Puneri Paltan began their PKL 11 clash on equal footing, but Ashu Malik quickly showcased why he’s among the best in the league, giving his team an early lead. The Puneri Paltan showed strength in defence, but Dabang Delhi K.C. responded to every move with equal intensity, making for a tight contest.

The cautious approach from both teams led to Do-or-Die raids dominating the first half. As it drew to a close, Puneri Paltan’s struggles in the raiding department became evident when Akash Shinde was tackled by Yogesh. Despite Mohit Goyat’s efforts, a lack of support left the scoreline at 12-10 in favor of Dabang Delhi K.C., highlighting their edge in this PKL 11 battle.
The second half began with fireworks as Ashu Malik delivered a stunning Super Raid, sending Gaurav Khatri, Pankaj Mohite, Mohit Goyat, Sanket Sawant, and Aman to the bench. This raid reduced Puneri Paltan to just two players, but the defending champions clawed back into the game.
A timely Super Tackle by Abinesh Nadarajan dismissed Ashu Malik, and Akash Shinde’s successful raid eliminated Yogesh. Pankaj Mohite then took out Gaurav Chillar, and Mohit Goyat tackled Naveen Kumar, keeping the pressure on Dabang Delhi K.C. in this intense PKL 11 encounter.
As the match entered its final minutes, Ashu Malik completed his Super 10 with a brilliant hand touch to send Abinesh Nadarajan to the bench. However, Puneri Paltan refused to back down, equalizing at 21-21 with seven minutes left after Aman successfully tackled Ashu Malik, marking their 12th tackle point of this PKL 11 showdown.
With six minutes to go, the teams were neck and neck. In a decisive moment, Dadaso Pujari and Aman stepped out of bounds, gifting two points to Dabang Delhi K.C. Ashu Malik then eliminated Pankaj Mohite and Mohit Goyat in a stunning move, leaving Akash Shinde as Puneri Paltan’s lone player on the mat.
With just two minutes left, Akash Shinde was tackled, allowing Dabang Delhi K.C. to inflict the first ALL OUT of the match on Puneri Paltan. In this tightly contested PKL 11 clash, the team coached by Joginder Narwal held on to secure a thrilling victory in the closing moments.
