Titans will host the first leg of the season.

The Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 (PKL 11) will see a blockbuster opening match, as Pawan Sehrawat’s Telugu Titans will go up against Pardeep Narwal’s Bengaluru Bulls on October 18, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

The Pro Kabaddi League is being held in a cluster caravan format this time, with only three cities namely Hyderabad, Noida and Pune hosting the league stage matches. Each day consists of a double header, with only two rest days across the duration of the league stage.

After the opening fixture, the Titans will play another team from the southern part of the nation in the form of the Tamil Thalaivas, the very next day. Playing a total of eight matches in Hyderabad, the home stretch ends for them on November 9, with a clash against the defending champions Puneri Paltan.

The next leg will begin for them on November 14, when they go up against the home team UP Yoddhas in Noida. The Titans will play a total of seven matches in the city in Northern India, which culminates with a meeting with two-time champions Jaipur Pink Panthers on November 30.

The third and final leg in Pune will commence for the Hyderabad-based franchisee on December 4, with the reverse fixture against the Yoddhas. They play seven matches in all at the Balewadi Sports Complex, with their league stage journey concluding on December 20, when they play the home team.

Twelve of the Titans’ matches will begin at 8:00 PM, while the remaining ten will comprise the second match of the double headers on the respective days. Incidentally, they will be playing the first match 6 out of 8 times in Hyderabad, while they will be playing the second match of the day 5 out of 7 times in Noida.

Each team will play a total of 22 matches in PKL 11. The top two teams will qualify for the semifinals directly, while the next four teams will play the Eliminators to decide the remaining two semifinalists.

The Telugu Titans is the only team among the original eight PKL sides to have not clinched a title yet. To make matters worse, the team has finished at the bottom of the pile in the last three seasons. Last season, they could only muster up 21 points in total, shockingly winning only two out of twenty-two matches. The main reason for that was the lack of support to Indian team skipper Pawan Sehrawat, who on a personal note had the third highest number of raid points (202) last season.

The Titans have tried to rectify that with the purchases of Manjeet Sharma and Vijay Malik, both of whom were scouted out a few seasons ago by the team’s new coach Krishan Hooda. Promising talents like Sanjeevi and Praful Zaware, who were retained after showing glimpses of their potential last season, too will have a role in the raiding department.

The defense will see the addition of Krishan Dhull, who was the second-best defender of the league last season. They will be hoping for better performances from the likes of Ajit Pawar, Shankar Gadai and Milad Jabbari, so that the team becomes well-balanced.
