PKL 11: Top five defenders of GW 4 in Pro Kabaddi 2024
Gaurav Khatri is still at the top in the list of most tackle points in PKL 11.
In the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), defenders are often more important than the raiders and the same has been seen so far in PKL 11. A team with a strong defense has a much higher chance of winning the title. Many defenders have made a splash with their excellent performances in PKL 11
Like in week four of PKL 11, Haryana Steelers moved to the top of the table when Rahul Sethpal led with 17 points in three matches followed by Mohammadreza Shadloui’s stellar performance. Dabang Delhi’s Ashish Malik impressed with 7 tackle points against Tamil Thalaivas, while teammate Yogesh Dahiya contributed 11 points in two matches.
On this note, let’s look at the top five defenders who stood out in Week 4 of PKL 11.

5. Sumit (UP Yoddhas)
Taking charge as UP Yoddhas‘ captain in Surender Gill’s absence, Sumit delivered a solid performance this week. He secured 3 points against U Mumba and added another 3 points in the match against Telugu Titans.
What stands out is his ability to balance leadership duties while maintaining consistency in his game. Sumit is currently the second-highest tackler of the season, with a total of 32 points so far.
4. Ashish Malik (Dabang Delhi)
Dabang Delhi’s left-corner specialist, Ashish Malik, impressed everyone with his commanding performance in Week 4. Against Tamil Thalaivas, he was unstoppable, scoring 7 tackle points from just 10 attempts—a remarkable feat.
He followed it up with 2 points in the match against Puneri Paltan. His precise tackles make him one of the season’s standout defenders.
3. Yogesh Dahiya (Dabang Delhi)
Another Dabang Delhi defender, right-corner specialist Yogesh Dahiya, proved his mettle this week. He played a crucial role in the victory over Tamil Thalaivas, earning 7 points in the match.
Yogesh added another 4 points against Puneri Paltan, bringing his total to 11 points from two matches. His reliability and sharp defensive instincts have made him a cornerstone of Delhi’s defense.
2. Rahul Sethpal (Haryana Steelers)
Haryana Steelers are known for their defensive prowess, and Rahul Sethpal has been integral to their success. In Week 4, he delivered an outstanding performance with 8 points against Gujarat Giants, followed by 4 points against U Mumba to secure a win.
He also registered a High Five in the match against Patna Pirates. With a total of 17 points from three matches this week, Sethpal remains a key player for Haryana.
1. Mohammadreza Shadloui (Haryana Steelers)
Emerging as one of the biggest match-winners for Haryana Steelers this season, Mohammadreza Shadloui has been exceptional in both defense and raiding. He is currently the third-highest tackler of the season.
Shadloui’s impact was evident this week, with 4 tackle points against Gujarat Giants, 6 points against U Mumba, and 3 points against Patna Pirates, totaling 13 points from three matches. His contributions have been crucial in Haryana’s rise to the top of the points table.
