5. Jitender Yadav (Gujarat Giants)

Despite Gujarat Giants‘ struggles this season, with the team on the edge of playoff elimination, Jitender Yadav provided some glimmers of hope. The all-rounder showed his defensive abilities in Noida, making vital contributions in key matches against teams like Bengal Warriorz and Telugu Titans.

While the Giants’ defence has largely underperformed, Yadav’s 37 tackle points in 13 matches in PKL 11 are commendable. His efforts might not have been enough to save the team’s season, but they demonstrated his potential as a reliable defender.

4. Hitesh (UP Yoddhas)

UP Yoddhas have had a mixed season, with their raiders failing to make a significant impact. However, Hitesh has been a revelation in defence. Filling the void left by the experienced Nitesh Kumar, Hitesh has formed a formidable partnership with Sumit on the right corner.

With 43 tackle points in 14 matches in PKL 11, Hitesh has ensured that the Yoddhas’ defence remains one of their stronger suits, earning plaudits for his consistency and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

3. Yogesh Dahiya (Dabang Delhi)

Continuing his fine form from the previous season, Yogesh Dahiya has been the defensive backbone for Dabang Delhi. While the Delhi coach doesn’t have to worry about the offence with Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar leading, in defence, Dahiya has been equally impactful, especially during the Noida leg.

With 46 tackle points in 14 matches in PKL 11, he has reinforced his status as one of the league’s most dependable defenders. Dahiya’s aggressive style and sharp decision-making have been crucial for Delhi’s success.

2. Ankit Jaglan (Patna Pirates)

Patna Pirates’ raiding unit led by Devank Dalal has been the talk of the town this season. However, Ankit Jaglan has emerged as a key figure in shoring up the backline.

After replacing Shubham Shinde and being given the captaincy mid-season, Ankit made the most of this opportunity and performed brilliantly. His 47 tackle points in 15 matches in PKL 11 include several game-changing performances during the Noida leg, proving his leadership credentials and defensive prowess.

1. Nitesh Kumar (Tamil Thalaivas)

While they have struggled to find themselves in the upper half of the PKL 11 table, Nitesh Kumar has been a revelation for Tamil Thalaivas this season. A specialist at the left corner, his performances have been a beacon of hope for a team struggling with an underwhelming raiding unit.

With 51 tackle points in 15 matches in PKL 11, he currently ranks third in total tackle points this season. His calmness under pressure and exceptional timing in tackles have made him a standout player, and his contributions have been crucial.
