With the win today in PKL 11, Sunil Kumar became the captain with the most wins in the Pro Kabaddi League.

The Puneri Paltan’s fans turned up in huge numbers in the Badminton Hall at the Balewadi Sports Complex for match 90 of Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) when they faced U Mumba. However, the home fans returned disappointed as U Mumba walked away with a 43-29 win on the night.

Sombir and Manjeet picked up the first points for U Mumba, but as expected, the Puneri Paltan roared back in the early exchanges of PKL 11. U Mumba, however, kept up their intensity and very soon, all their players were scoring important points in the first quarter of the contest in PKL 11.

Sushil Kumar, Manjeet, and Ajit Chauhan led the charge for U Mumba, who were looking to pull away with an early lead in PKL 11. Neither side allowed the other an inch on the mat. For the Puneri Paltan, Akash Shinde and Abinesh Nadarajan were the most impactful in the first half, despite their team being on the wrong end of the scoreline in PKL 11.

Manjeet and Ajit Chouhan caused the Puneri Paltan plenty of problems as U Mumba looked to shift gears. In the final minutes of the first half in PKL 11, Pankaj Mohite ran through the U Mumba defense with a three-point raid, giving the Puneri Paltan an important but slender lead. Pankaj Mohite’s onslaught continued, and with help from his defenders, the Puneri Paltan inflicted an emphatic ALL OUT on U Mumba, snatching the lead just before the break. At halftime, the Puneri Paltan led 19-16, and the Pune crowd was understandably delighted during this exciting clash in PKL 11.

Ajit Chouhan wiped out the lead with the first play of the second half in PKL 11, landing an impressive Super Raid on the Puneri Paltan. He then came back for more to restore U Mumba’s lead. Before the first six minutes of the second half were over, Ajit Chauhan completed his Super 10 and inflicted an ALL OUT on the Puneri Paltan, showcasing U Mumba’s dominance in PKL 11. Despite this, the defending champions weren’t throwing in the towel just yet in PKL 11.

As the game in PKL 11 approached the half-hour mark, U Mumba led by 8 points and successfully thwarted the likes of Pankaj Mohite and V Ajith. Entering the final phase of the contest, the Puneri Paltan started to mount one last fightback. Pankaj Mohite had a couple of successful moments, but Sunil Kumar and Sombir, both of whom had completed their High-5s, stood firm.

Manjeet then delivered an ALL OUT at the expense of the Puneri Paltan, sealing the fate of the game. U Mumba eventually walked off the mat with a resounding win in the Maharashtra Derby, solidifying their position in PKL 11.
