Ashu Malik returns to Dabang Delhi with a ‘Crorepati’ tag, bagging 1.90 Cr.

Ashu Malik entered the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) auction with a base price of INR 30 lakhs. Telugu Titans opened the bid for the 23-year-old for INR 1.05 Cr, but were soon followed by Puneri Paltan who raised the bid to INR 1.055 Cr.

After a slow bidding between the two franchises, Bengal Warriorz bumped up the bid to INR 1.50 Cr. Puneri Paltan raised their paddle once again, but the Warriorz were firm on their choice as they raised the bid to INR 1.75 Cr.

Puneri Paltan showed interest in Ashu once again but only to be denied by Bengal Warriorz, who offered INR 1.90 Cr for the young Indian raider. However, Dabang Delhi spoiled the Warriorz’ party by exercising their FBM card on Ashu Malik, roping in the player for the next two PKL seasons.

The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 player auction will take place in Mumbai on May 31 and June 1. Around 600 players will go under the hammer in the two-day player auction. With teams having released several big names, the PKL 12 Auction is expected to be a cracker of an event.

A look at Ashu Malik’s PKL Journey

Ashu Malik has been an integral part of Dabang Delhi since making his Pro Kabaddi League debut in 2021. He played for the Delhi-based franchise for four editions before being released ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 player auction.

Ashu Malik earned 59 points from 22 matches in his maiden PKL season with Dabang Delhi K.C. The young Indian raider only got better with time as he raked up 158 points from 23 outings in the ninth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

In PKL Season 10, Ashu breached the 200-point mark with 280 points, including 276 raid points from 23 matches. The Indian raider continued his exceptional run in the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League, having earned 265 points from 23 matches, including 262 raid points.

Overall, Ashu Malik has earned 762 points (730 raid points and 32 tackle points) from 91 matches across four seasons in the Pro Kabaddi League with the Delhi-based franchise. He has 23 Super Raids and 38 Super 10s to his name from 1336 raids in the tournament. The former PKL champions released their star raider into the PKL 12 Player Auction pool, leaving the fans in shock.
