PKL 12 Auction: Devank Dalal becomes double crorepati; Bengal Warriorz rope in for whopping 2.205 cr

Devank Dalal was released by the Patna Pirates ahead of the PKL 12
Devank Dalal was sold for a massive ₹2.205 crores to Bengal Warriorz at the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) auction, becoming one of the most expensive players in PKL history.
This was the first purchase of the auction for Bengal Warriorz, and they made a strong statement by going all out for last season’s star raider. Earlier, Bengal had come close to buying Vijay Malik, but Telugu Titans used their Final Bid Match (FBM) to retain him.
Telugu Titans started the proceedings for Devank Dalal with an aggressive opening bid of ₹1.05 crore for last year’s best raider. Bengal soon joined the bidding with 1.5 crore. Then we saw a fierce bidding war between Puneri Paltan and Bengal Warriors. Bengal raised their bid to ₹2.165 crores and then to ₹2.205 crores, effectively closing the opportunity to use FBM by Patna Pirates
With this massive buy of Patna’s MVP from last season, Bengal Warriorz have addressed their biggest weakness last year as they struggled with the raiding department and didn’t have reliable raiders, as their star players failed to shine on the mat. Devank could be the ideal replacement.
His ability to lead the attack makes him a perfect fit for Bengal as they look to rebuild their raiding department. If Devank can replicate his stellar performances from last season, Bengal will be one of the title contenders at the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12.
A look at Devank Dalal’s PKL journey
Devank Dalal was the standout raider of the last season. He scored 301 points in his debut season, including 8 Super Raids and 18 Super 10s, and went on to become the top scorer of the season. It was a surprising decision that Patna have released him despite being the best raider of the team.
He started his PKL journey with Jaipur Pink Panthers in Season 9, but it was Patna Pirates who saw the potential in him and picked him up in the Season 11 auction. Devank scored a monstrous 25 points in his second match only against Tamil Thailavas, and after that, he didn’t look back.
