Devank Dalal became the most expensive raider of the PKL 12 auction.
The Pro Kabaddi League season 12 (PKL 12) Auction, day 1, concluded at the NSCI, Mumbai, with Devank Dalal sold for a mammoth ₹2.205 crores to Bengal Warriorz. Thus, becoming one of the most expensive players in PKL history.
Devank was the standout raider of the last season. He scored 301 points in his debut season, including 8 Super Raids and 18 Super 10s, and went on to become the top scorer of the season.
Devank started his PKL journey with the Jaipur Pink Panthers in season 9. But he did not get many chances in Jaipur. It was the Patna Pirates who saw the potential in him and picked him up in the Season 11 auction. He was picked by the Bengal Warriorz in the PKL 12 auction, to which he expressed his gratitude
“Bengal has shown more trust in me than Patna has shown in me, and I will give more than 100 per cent effort,” said Devank.
On becoming the most expensive Indian player at the PKL 12 auction
Devank Dalal was the most expensive Indian player at the PKL 12 auction, and usually, players get a bit stressed about the price tag at times. On being asked about the pressure, he said, “There is no such pressure; the bids that are made are very useful and it doesn’t go in vain”.
However, Devank also shared that he somehow expected that Bengal Warriorz would make a bid to rope him in. “The way the auction was happening, I was thinking that either Bengaluru Bulls or Bengal Warriorz would choose me,” he added.

Devank also showed a lot of aggression last year, and on asked about how he will turn the page by being in Benagl Warriorz, he said, “Once the team is formed, then we will see how we will turn the page and as per practice, we will play good matches and win the trophy.”
