PKL 12 Auction: Telugu Titans bag Shubham Shinde for 80 lakh

Shubham Shinde played for the Patna Pirates last season.
Shubham Shinde will be the Telugu Titans player this season. The Southern Giants picked up a right-corner defender for ₹80 lakh at the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 auction.
Shinde, who played for Patna Pirates last season, is one of the few consistent performers going around in defense. Last year, he added 58 total points, 56 of which were through defensive tackles. He also delivered 5 Super Tackles and 4 High 5s and maintained an impressive 2.31 average successful tackles per match.
Shubham Shinde made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League in Season 6 (2018) with Puneri Paltan, where he earned 12 points, and he stayed with them in 2019. In 2021, he joined the Patna Pirates for the first time and again scored 18 points.
But it was during his Bengal Warriorz tenure that he found his rhythm and began to dominate in the right corner. Shinde represented Bengal Warriorz from 2022 to 2023. That two-year stint helped him grow into a complete defender. In 2022, he added up 44 points.
In 2023, he bettered that with a career-high 67 points. He also formed one of the league’s rare corner pairings with his younger brother, Aditya Shinde, who played on the opposite side of the mat. Their presence gave the Warriors a unique edge in defense, and Shubham quickly became the senior figure in that partnership.
A look at Shubham Shinde’s stats in PKL
Across his Pro Kabaddi career so far, Shinde has played 106 matches and scored a total of 217 points; out of those, 189 are tackle points. He has attempted 429 tackles, with 189 being successful, giving him a career tackle success rate of 44.06%.
He’s pulled off 18 Super Tackles and 9 High 5s, averaging 1.78 successful tackles per match. Though not known for raiding, he’s made 101 raids and collected 10 raid points, while maintaining a strong not-out percentage of 94.05%.
